When Bell was coming out of contract and the Kangaroos were looking for a CEO he said that he does have aspirations to continue further up the admin tree, so I expected him to go then because there wasn't an opening at FFC... yet.

Exactly. Who’s going to stand in the way of someone getting a promotion? Like assistant coaches moving on mid year if a senior position becomes available.

The other way to spin it is that Freo have quality admin and can develop leaders.

There is absolutely zero chance that Sumich wrote that himself. Actually he might have written the "vastly less competent experienced exponent" because it's just words pushed together.

I reckon for the rest they just give him as much HJs as he asks for then put him in a room with a voice recorder and try and turn his grunts into an article and whack his name on it.

Tbf we were a winning side last year so you don't really want to change that. This year is different so both parties need to grab this opportunity with both hands.
