Could Suma be walking out on The West? Rumours abound. (Article care of ChatGPT)

Peter Sumich is a well-known figure in the world of AFL football, having established himself as one of the top coaches in the game. His winning record and experience make him a valuable asset for any team looking to hire a coach. However, recent reports suggest that Sumich is now exploring other media opportunities, leading to speculation surrounding what his plans may entail.

Sumich has spent over two decades in the sport as both a coach and player. His success on the field has been recognized through numerous awards and accolades, including being selected as an All-Australian in 1991. Sumich also has an impressive coaching record, with stints at several prominent clubs, including Fremantle, West Coast, and Sydney.

Despite his status as a high-profile coach, Sumich is now considering his options for other media opportunities. While the details of these opportunities remain unclear, there are a few potential roles that Sumich may be considering.

One possibility is that Sumich may be looking to take on a role as a commentator, providing expert analysis and commentary on AFL games on television or radio. Sumich's experience and deep knowledge of the sport make him an ideal candidate for this type of position, and it would allow him to share his insights and knowledge with a wider audience.

Another potential media opportunity for Sumich could be a role as a pundit, offering his opinions and analysis of the latest developments and news in the world of AFL. This type of role would allow Sumich to share his unique perspective on the sport with fans, offering insights into its intricate workings, strategy and tactics, and more.

Whatever options may be on the table, it's clear that Sumich's unique experience and deep knowledge of AFL football make him a valuable commodity in the media world. His contributions to the sport as both a player and coach have been nothing short of impressive, and his willingness to explore new media opportunities is a testament to his versatility and passion for the game.

Should he ultimately take on a new media role, Sumich is sure to provide fans with a range of insights and knowledge, providing a unique perspective on the sport and offering expert analysis and commentary on the AFL's latest news and developments. And while it remains to be seen where Sumich's media career will take him next, it's sure to be an exciting and rewarding journey for one of the game's most renowned figures.

So, I think we agree that Sumich is not writing his own articles. Young and Hagdorn have been suggested as the true culprits.

But what about the Snitch's identity? He says that he is a member of both WA clubs. Could it be Xavier Ellis?

On Suma: I'd say he's proving some incredibly basic notes/draft copy which is then hammered into something legible via The West's subs desk.

On Snitch: He's no-one in particular. It's just an avenue for them to publish Perth's plentiful supply footy rumours for easy clicks. They could have easily done the same thing at any time (although "guess who's been spotted again at the Red Sea with pupils resembling theoretical particles?" might not have flown as well with their readers) but the adults in the building saying "that's a shit idea" have clearly all departed in their recent redundancy rounds.

Personally, have followed Eliza Reilly and Duff across to CODE - quality local analysis, and a good mix of local and national sport to boot.
