Which is usually a sign things have gotten worse than we thinkWell for everyone who reckons we get ignored by the media, we have got a lot of attention on AFL360 tonight.
As you might imagine, none of it positive.
JL copping the brunt of it, I hope. Always good to see some heat head his way.Well for everyone who reckons we get ignored by the media, we have got a lot of attention on AFL360 tonight.

If many of you get a chance to step down from the ledge, here’s a good interview of Garlick by Duff. I know things are not where we want them, but I still have faith in Garlick and Bell to right the ship. We’re going to have to take our lumps at times with such a young side.

Think it was valid. Calling for the coach and list mgmt team to be sacked over this year, when they’ve shown previous success last year, was more what he was pointing to.Didn’t like how he dismissed the sms from the supporter saying he has a narrow point of view and where was he when we won 15.5 games last year?? Wtf Simon it ain’t 2022, we have regressed somewhat and in the finals last year, given up starts to opposition, has not been addressed.
He was strong on achieving the objectives of their strategic plan though. Do you think JL is a premiership coach in waiting, in the next 2 years?? I seriously doubt we can even make finals in the next 2 years as a lot of teams have improved and have gone passed us (bombers, crows, bulldogs etc) which will make things harder. If there is no finals next year, it will be too late for the plan to start again so why not get the best available coach now? RTB took over in 2012, we played in a GF 2 years later as an example.Think it was valid. Absolutely will need to be looked at if next year is much the same.
Bombers and crows just as likely to drop back next year as go on with it.He was strong on achieving the objectives of their strategic plan though. Would be very surprised if there is much change for next year, the management should of got someone to help JLo out 2 years ago. They need to be more fired up about these performances and show that they are going to look to improve, not use the “we are young” excuse which is on the management teams previous doings. If you are happy with JLo, then good for you, I think there would have to be better options out there that would be more inspiring. A solid game plan is also the difference between a good and a great coach. Mccrae and Scott don’t have hugely different teams to the previous coaches. How many more players are going to leave this year because the game plan stinks and players either don’t understand it, don’t like it or it’s ineffectual. Whatever that is, that is on the coach.Bombers and crows just as likely to drop back next year as go on with it.
Who’s best available?
Unlikely that Hardwick would be an option for us. Who’s left?
Pyke has stated that he doesn’t want to be head coach again, Buckley more likely to take a senior mentorship role over another head coaching gig.
Hinkley likely to sign on at Port, or head back to Vic.
Who else is there?
Remember that Goodwin, Hardwick were In similar circumstances to Longmuir, made finals, then took a dive.
There are definitely bad coaches, and they should be moved on immediately. Is JL a bad coach? I don’t think so.
The difference between a good coach and a great coach is the list and timing.
Clarkson is a great coach because of the list he had, becomes second rate once that went away.
And yeah, I was ready to burn the place down on Sunday, was just done with the whole thing yesterday on hearing about the serong suspension. Unlikely to watch this weekend.
But I’m also now holding fire and taking a breath, seeing what the first few rounds of next season bring. We are the second the youngest side in the comp. We have still beaten some very good teams despite this.
They’re looking at the assistant coaches, senior support, new ideas and voices. That’s more than we ever got before.
And played a GF 2 years later.I'm not sure what is going to happen but last time the club was in this position of making finals in 2010 and then a massive disappointment of a season in 2011, we sacked the coach and brought in Ross
I do wonder what the club will do
We secured Ross first, then sacked Mark. I don't think we sack Mark in 2011 otherwise. I also don't see us sacking Justin unless we pull off another blindside for say Hardwick or Hinkley.I'm not sure what is going to happen but last time the club was in this position of making finals in 2010 and then a massive disappointment of a season in 2011, we sacked the coach and brought in Ross
Interesting piece. Basically confirms what watching us indicates, if we don't dominate from clearance we suck. We need to work a lot on our turnover and transition this summer.
The mistakes Fremantle made in the off-season and how it's now haunting them

Yes I think there is real pressure on next year if we don't improve both of those metrics significantly. I think JL is safe (barring a WC spanking) because that data also confirms that we are in fact "too" young, but we don't even do those things well in wins. We need to show that, even if we are still inconsistent next year, that our best is good in all critical metrics, or at least significantly better than this year.so, we have four players who could be weapons at transition.
Walker, Young, Clark and Chapman when he’s fit.
it’s a real indictment on the coaching that we’ve invested heavily in a half back line with speed and penetrating kicks and we play this stagnant brand of footy

I think we did turnover well at the start of last year but we've dropped right away to be terrible at it now.
