It is funny how broadcast, venues, complexity, preferences etc wasn't an issue when gather round and zero round were very quickly put into place.
Funny how they can play two games at the G and at Marvel on weekends, yet can't do it here in the best stadium in the country.
Squirting pressurised water up our clakers.
They are just adding another bunch of unresolved issues to the heap.
We are looking into changes, we are going to have a new look at such and such. We are going to have a new model to test drug cheats beginning next year. And the list goes on.
We have looked atthe Fremantle request, yeah we did, a few years back now, But we will continue to gaze at it... like all other hard issues... at the end of the year, But then again, we may be busy on holidays then, Booking Fremantle's trip to Tassie and then the NT.
Oh and it seems themeals were interupted by some harsh words spoken to Dill and Co. I hope someone spilt some soup over the.

West Coast chief executive Don Pyke has assured Eagles fans of “positive” discussions around equality and fixturing to come out of the AFL chief executives’ meeting held in Perth this week.

All 18 CEOs and AFL representatives, including league boss Andrew Dillon, met at Optus Stadium on Tuesday as part of the collaborative talks where Pyke and Fremantle chief executive Simon Garlick championed for greater equality for the WA clubs.

The Eagles and Dockers are chasing a better fixture, having been forced to travel an extra game in recent seasons because of the introduction of Gather Round.

In an address to West Coast members and fans, Pyke said he was confident the talks were leading in the right direction to helping reduce the burden of travel.

“I attended the AFL CEOs’ conference here in Perth earlier this week and we had some positive and collaborative discussions around competitive balance issues, future fixturing and the strategic direction of the game,” Pyke said.

“Please be assured we continue to push to ensure that some of the inequities that exist in the current national competition are being acknowledged, considered, and addressed at AFL level.”
LOL Pykie are you in line for a job at AFL house.

Here’s a couple Tassie Dockers supporters seeing the boys off last week.

To be fair, the Optus deck can’t even handle 1 game a week

They would play two there if they had to. And the emphasis is on WOULD, not could.
When you look at it, the games we played agaisnt the Dees and Hawks were just fund raisers for those two clubs. Nothing at all to do with taking the game to the masses.
Remember the hand outs and assistance the Dees got when they were deeply in the red , and were crap as a football team. They were another of the 7/8 VFL teams who should never have been pasrt of the new National competition. And that goes back to pre 87 when thier VFL was saved, and it included Hawthorn. Remember theMelboure Hawks saga.
Both have had hand outs since before 87.

At least the plane had business class seats though?
i'm pretty sure it would've been a fokker 100 which has a distinct lack of business seats

i am surprised the plain wasnt force to land once 30 minutes itno flight they realised no water on board.

A 4 hour flight is it from Tasmania to WA? wow and no attempt to land to refill .

Forget the AFL Conspiracy into fixturing. Need an investigtion into this company
Theyre a FIFO charter airline so the planes are designed for 2 hr flights max.

The problem is there aren't any direct flights this time of year from Launceston to Perth so you're forced into these regional jet shitboxes.

Another reason we shouldn't play there

Ok so if 2 hour max. why does the newspaper say they had 4 hours with no water. So what was the flight path. For a direct flight to Launceston it cant get there from PErth without one perhaps 2 stops

Because it would have been direct which is 4 hours as you are into a head wind on the way back.
