There's a series about the interstate start up clubs in the AFL/VFL. Haven't seen the other episodes and it takes a while to get going - but there's some chats with Gerard Neesham, David Hatt and Ross Kelly that I haven't seen before, even if it's telling a history most Fremantle fans know.

I couldn't see a single one of the IPA wee wee's lasting an hour on the east bank at the WACA sitting on a carton of steel Export cans watching cricket. You'd be in RPH by the first drinks break. Probably couldn't carry the second carton in without injuring your hairdo.

Haha, they were the good old days. I recall taking my girlfriend (now wife) to the WACA many years ago to watch Ian, Greg and Trevor Chappel playing for South Australia versus WA with Lillee, Marsh etc. Most of Australia's test team at the time were playing in that game.

We walked in with and esky full of steel cans of Emu Export and no one blinked an eyelid at us. You would end up in jail if you did that today.

I'm a bit late to the beer snobyness conversation but my two cents is that the best way to view these sorts of things from the outside is that it is a hobby. Not all of us understand why certain people are interested in collecting model trains, for example, but to certain folk they can have a lot of fun doing so. I think larger, IPA, wine and liquor snobs are basically the same but for a certain type of drink. The small differences between how the drink was made might not care to someone just looking to relax, but it could be interesting to someone with an actual passion for that type of drink. Ultimately, my point is that I wish the drinks at Perth Stadium were full strength.

Ffs. I have 95% given up the grog, except indulging in the occasional beer. I got half way through the beer convo and fricking caved.

If only I’d stuck around until the point someone brought up sours I might have held out. What on earth are they anyway? I will persevere with most drinks, but that was the first ‘beer’ I’ve spat out and poured down the drain.

Also, we are up against it with essendon. Everyone is crapping up them. They are gonna be angry. Hope the boys are ready.
