I'd lose a kidney but not a testicle.

Actually, **** it, I'd lose a nut.

The left one. That ****er dangles too much. I've reached the age where a slight cross of the legs ends up in a crushed nut.

But the club would want to acknowledge the effort. Moose can get up and say some words.

Fremantle captain Alex Pearce spoke to the media after training:
"Yeah it's not great. I've seen the reports about some of our supporters committing acts of self-harm in the cause. Look, I understand we have a passionate supporter base, but I'm horrified at some of the stuff I've heard about. It's only a game for ***k's sake, keep your tackle intact!"

On Darcy/Jackson, I'd actually like to work away from relying on LJ covering for Swaggy if/when he is injured and start moving more towards Reidy taking the backup role.

Nothing against Dogga's rucking capability, in a pinch if Sean goes down mid game then Luke definitely slots straight in there.

But if the options are Jackson as starting ruck or Reidy starting and LJ backing him up, I'll take the second option every week.

Ah yeah, sorry to all the informed experienced peeps on here but honestly, those types support their team and couldn't give two shits about anyone outside their own bubble. Live and breath their club and ask everyone around them who the bloke in purple wearing number 7 is as "he's killing us".

Don't have to get me on my footy media rant again haha
I can fuly relate to this regards AFLW. My extent of involvement is getting to Freo Oval to watch our girls play live. I occasionally watch an away game streamed. And whilst I follow scores so know in general terms which teams are good, I wouldn't in a million years watch a game between two other teams or get to know their players well. Consequently at games I ask a lot of "who is that number 7 killing us?"
In fact I'd go as far as to say 95% of my footy watching across my life has been like that - juniors, ammos, even WAFL. I only know my team well. AFL with every game live and on demand is the outlier

Medically, I recommend losing a testicle over a kidney. Kidneys are kinda life essential and they tend to die off with age, whereas any one functioning testicle produces enough sperm to repopulate the known universe. You seriously do not need both!

I think I'm going to feign injury.
I'm a bit worried that I might have been misunderstood.

Jackson is a fine ruckman, a weapon even.

But he is sooooo much more than just a backup ruck/forward.

Pidgeon holing him just seems like such a waste for a "unicorn". I'd have him playing every position on the ground if I could.

Hell, lets give him a run on the wing and see how he goes. LOL

Darcy ruck
Jackson in the guts
Built up Draper for one wing and always have that long down the line or corridor switch or other wing covered.
talk about controlling the skies!
Nobody will be able to exit their d50 either, unless it is from precision kicks or contested ground balls.

Where do the Dockers sit?

Where do the Dockers sit?

Halfway through 2024, the Dockers looked like a premiership threat. Come the end of the home and away season, they weren’t even in the finals.
With Justin Longmuir facing some pressure, can they make the leap in 2025?

SURPRISE PACKET OF 2024

Most Fremantle fans thought that Jye Amiss was a long-awaited reincarnation of Matthew Pavlich. But the Dockers treacherous quest to find a reliable key forward threw up a surprise last season when Josh Treacy took his game to another level in attack. Dubbed ‘Cyclone,’ the 22-year-old kicked 45 goals in 20 matches to finish fourth in the Dockers best and fairest. Treacy’s form was so good in 2024 that the Dockers essentially parked their interest in Sydney spearhead Logan McDonald and turned their attention to Shai Bolton instead. Don’t be surprised if Treacy becomes the AFL’s premier key forward next season.

INS AND OUTS

IN: Shai Bolton (trade, Richmond), Jaren Carr (No. 63 draft pick, father-son), Quinton Narkle (SSP), Charlie Nicholls (No. 34 draft pick), Murphy Reid (No. 17 draft pick), Aiden Riddle (Rookie Draft).
OUT: Josh Corbett (retired), Tom Emmett (delisted), Ethan Hughes (delisted), Max Knobel (delisted), Sebit Kuek (delisted), Ethan Stanley (delisted), Matt Taberner (delisted), Conrad Williams (delisted).

DOCKERS' 2025 BEST 23

B: Luke Ryan, Alex Pearce, Brandon Walker
HB: Jordan Clark, Brennan Cox, Heath Chapman
C: Jeremy Sharp, Andrew Brayshaw, Nathan O'Driscoll
HF: Shai Bolton, Josh Treacy, Michael Frederick
F: Sam Switkowski, Jye Amiss, Luke Jackson
Foll: Sean Darcy, Caleb Serong, Hayden Young
I/C: Matthew Johnson, Nat Fyfe, Neil Erasmus, Corey Wagner, Michael Walters

WHO’S PLAYING FOR A CONTRACT?

Neil Erasmus. The 2021 top 10 pick is out of contract at the end of the season and has been unable to break into Fremantle’s midfield, playing 23 games in three seasons. He played just four last season, three of which were as sub. The 21-year-old could’ve easily found a new home in the trade period but decided to remain at the Dockers and fight for his spot. If there is a role for just one big bodied ball winner in Fremantle’s midfield, the question becomes when does that spot belong to Erasmus and not Nat Fyfe? Time is ticking for the 2024 Simpson medallist as best afield in Peel’s WAFL premiership to take the next step.

COACH STATUS

DOCKERS-COACH_oGo52bhEN.jpg

How the Dockers approach head coach Justin Longmuir’s contract negotiations will be one of the fascinating decisions Fremantle makes this year. Longmuir signed a one-year contract extension on the eve of the 2024 season, a vote of some confidence. But the Dockers failed to make finals after losing their final four games of the season. It leaves Fremantle in the exact same position as it was a year ago with Longmuir out of contract heading into 2025. Now the Dockers have to decide whether to let him coach under pressure or negotiate another short-term extension to keep the wolves at bay. Fremantle has the list to play finals so it’s up to Longmuir to get the best out of it.

LAST YEAR IN CONTRACT

Aiden Riddle, Alex Pearce, Andrew Brayshaw, Jack Delean, James Aish, Jeremy Sharp, Karl Worner, Liam Reidy, Michael Walters, Nathan Fyfe, Neil Erasmus, Odin Jones, Oscar McDonald, Quinton Narkle

POSITION THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED AND WHO CAN FILL IT?

With Shai Bolton set to enhance Fremantle’s class and finishing capabilities up forward, the Dockers need to turn their attention to half-back. One of the missing pieces of the puzzle for Fremantle is a classy user who can get the Dockers out of trouble and find a target by foot. Jordan Clark had a breakout season with his dash and dare but his primary role is to gain metres. Corey Wagner leapfrogged James Aish as Fremantle’s other flanker by the end of the season and brought energy and bounce but he lacks polish. He might not start the season in the seniors but don’t be surprised if first round draft pick Murphy Reid is given a crack at the role given he was described as the classiest player in the draft. It’s also understood the Dockers have floated the idea of playing veteran Michael Walters behind the ball to give Fremantle some poise.

BURNING QUESTION

Will the Dockers return to finals? Fremantle was being talked up as a potential premiership smoky last season when the Dockers were sitting pretty in the top four with a month of footy to play. But in what can only be described as an unmitigated disaster, Fremantle lost its last four home and away games to crash out of the top eight and spend another September on the sidelines. The addition of Shai Bolton this off-season means that the Dockers will be top four favourites next season but the burden of expectation hasn’t been kind to Fremantle since it last made finals in 2022.

Walters behind the ball.....

Nope.
