Clubs just finding increasingly artificial ways to boost their numbers for the annual "record membership!" PR move until every club has 3 million members while getting about 20 thousand people to games

It’s a weird one, used to only be the old ‘big clubs’ flogging pet memberships to boost figures but now everyone does it. How GWS can say without cracking up laughing that they have 35k-40k members is the best one.
 
Anyone know where I can find my membership number? I bought a three game membership for the last few weeks of the Home and Away season. Trying to access members presale for the GWS game, but even when I sign in to Ticketmatser, I assumed it would automatically connect me as a member since my WB account is linked to it as well.

Western Bulldogs home page is confusing trying to find a link for tickets from your account page, Ticketmaster shows me as a general public, I cannot find a membership number on my accounts page anywhere. No email was sent with a special event code etc. Its like I paid for a small membership, yet I do no exist in a way haha.
 
Some of my sheep gave me that "you still haven't signed us up as members" look today. I told them to wait until Aug 2025 when we need their numbers to "set another membership record"... we do have a membership category for non-pet stock, right? 😄

Those membership numbers are pretty wooly.
Hopefully they flock to our games.

I think you need to dl the western bulldogs app to find it, or it's on the digital card in your ticketmaster account.

I dunno, can't remember exactly but I had the same problem... it's really hard to find.

Email the club's membership team. They are usually pretty helpful.

Apparently that 3 game membership does not entitle me to early access for the GWS game. Which sucks as I ended up not being able to attend a single one of those 3 games I purchased haha. Meant to be sleeping now in between night shifts, now I have to force myself to stay awake to wait for it to hit public sale.
 
Apparently the policy of the club is that if you are rolling over membership payments on your credit card any memberships you pay for will be added on and rolled over whether you approve that or not until you contact them to discontinue them .......

This happens to me with all my ongoing subscriptions, memberships, bills etc. Not saying right or wrong but a common thing in my experience.

Not sure if it is the same thing but the main thing with mine is that I pay for the BF sponsorships by credit card, no agreement at all to roll them over, and they just stick the sponsorship fees for the next year on my invoice with my personal memberships. Doesn't seem right to me! They are going to ring me back about it anyway.
 
How did Ticketek get added into the contact route? I got my renewal email which said if I want to see the invoice click here, and it took me to a Ticketek login that doubles as the club login :think::huh:

Took me to Ticketmaster.
Mine has always linked through Ticketmaster.
Including going through the app, My Digital card.
 
Just received my membership renewal from the club for 2025, the bit I liked was the quote "Join us for our 100th season in the VFL/AFL". The last 100 years must've missed a year somewhere in it as if you count it up 2024 was our 100th season with 2025 being the 101st.

I renewed my 2025 membership last night. Upgraded to the Charles Sutton premiership circle as the add on to my Silver Reserve membership.
 
This club can walk a plank. When I purchased a 3 game membership at the end of this year. There was not an option asking for their permission to renew automatically. Nor was there any warning that it would occur.

Instead today, when I needed to buy groceries. I was left at the check out unable to process my purchase, due to insufficient funds. Turns out that took money out of my account for a membership I never asked for. Left me in an awkward spot as I had to step aside, hold up the line, and transfer funds across from another account.

The fact the club has taken it on themselves to auto renew without your consent. Has left me feeling pretty unimpressed. It should be the other way around, auto renew doesn't occur unless SOMEONE selects it. Not very professional at all.

The fact that so many of you here have complained about it happening as well, yet the club has chosen not to fix it. Shows how poorly they have handled the whole thing.

I heavily edited this post, as initially I posted it at a time I let my temperament get the better of me.

Club can get f**ked for all I care. No longer purchasing one next year either. They have beyond pissed me off. There is something called consent/permission. The auto renew option should be decided by the person making the purchase, not the club secretly setting it up themselves.

How long does it take to process it back? I messaged my bank to block it asap. But don't think it will work.
Yeah they don't care about that stuff, I've gone on the monthly direct debit to avoid a massive amount ever being taken out again. Also FYI anybody who upgraded for free to a general admin silver/gold package last year the are automatically adding it to your renewal without any option online to change, you'll have to contact them directly.

I messaged my bank online, asking them to block it from going through, as its stuck pending. Told them it is an unauthorized transaction. Hopefully they block it, to save me from having to make any phone calls.

Poor form by the club to not have addressed this.
