Have canceled my foxtel subscription today after 19 years as there was just rubbish on
The wife has started watching some of the streaming sites as they have the type of shows she likes
Question
I shall be renewing my North membership this week so what’s the process to get Kayo with your membership
TIA

Answered above as wait to Feb early March and see what the deal is.

Reckon I’m gonna switch from interstate to digital membership this week too.

With the Kayo price increases, I don’t know why anyone outside Victoria and Tassie would opt for any other package this year?

It’s not like we can watch North games on free to air, so Kayo is a must.

i was considering flying the jolly rancher once more, but i'm so long out of practice im not sure where the fair waters are anymore

Just got a text from the club saying my direct debit was unsuccessful for this month.

That can’t be right I thought, so I went and checked my CC details.

Card flagging as expired (even though I have updates it).

The expiry date you ask?

2026.

This club.

The membership department is an absolute shit show and i have no idea who runs it but if they employed a membership manager with a half an idea we would be laughing.

Probably don't want to pay the person a decent wage of course but memberships is so bloody important they should have a gun person in the position.

Got an email from the club saying my payment hadn’t gone through due to the card being expired. I rang and got through straight away to a friendly staff member and gave him the new card details. Before giving the new card details I explained that it’s one of my new life goals to never deal with Ticketmaster unless I’m absolutely forced to and this was why I was ringing up. The bloke almost dropped the phone laughing and then asked if it was alright if he told the rest of the team about this new path to happiness. Being a generous bloke I naturally gave my permission.

Same here. Loathe Ticketmaster. Does anyone know if all clubs have the same relationship with TM? Is it an AFL thing or club by club? Can we opt out if we had an alternative?

I got a message today too. Must be the Y2K bug finally kicking in.
On the upside I got a call for a raffle ticket with the main draw prize being a Tassie trip with the team in 2025, so they are on top of things.

All clubs' membership systems are back-ended by Ticketmaster - so I imagine they go through the same pains.

If clubs were to use their own systems I would imagine that would create lots of headaches for the ticketing support team to ensure the integration works with customers. Which is probably why they all go with Ticketmaster. Easier to manage from their end and it probably has a more streamlined user admin portal to manage internally.

FWIW, I think Ticketmaster is horrendous, slow, occasionally unresponsive and is nowhere near equipped to handle the traffic it gets. If clubs could develop their own system, they would've done it by now.

The apps are also pretty meh. I am perplexed by the fact AFL has such horrendously slow apps and desktop websites to manage the most important source of revenue. Boggles the mind.

You reckon things are grim here....check out the comment on WC below...

Remember when the AFL stopped free streaming of games via Telstra a few years ago and Kayo first only charged $15 per month ($180 per year). Now that Kayo has gotten their hooks into all of the AFL supporters who are streaming ... we might consider that the price gouging has begun. I suppose that Kayo and the AFL will attribute this latest 20% increase in the cost of Kayo streaming on any of the following. The war in the Ukraine, gas shortages, the rising price of oil, rising interest rates or my personal favourite ... Global Warming 🙄 These all seem to get a flogging every time that a company or corporation decides that it hasn't reached deep enough into peoples pockets.

The 2024 members polo has arrived. Looks good , plain and simple with no advertising either.. View attachment 1890857
I’ve not signed up for this year yet, but do like the look of that polo. Was this an add-on when you were signing/re-signing up? Or did you have to buy separately?

Also, is that a member’s moccasin I can see at the bottom of the photo?

I'll pay a premium for the membership moccy.
