Yes but complaining about the quality of reserved seats they get at away games at the MCG is precious.
That's one way to look at it. The other is to ask why our club can't be bothered to provide remotely the same service for "replacement" home games, let alone away games.

I got an email inviting me to sign up as a member which was nice of them.

Despite me having been a member for 24 years….
I think got the same email yesterday.

Reward & Recognition program.

I responded to the email stating that I've been a member for 26 years and should already have billion R&R points.

No that's really not the way to look at it. Collingwood achieved this deal at the expense of every other MCG tenant. You may have missed that story from a year or so ago but it was a big story briefly and a significant slap in the face for supporters of clubs that had played home games at the G for many more years than Collingwood. In some instances, home club supporters have been displaced from their regular reserved seats for home games against Collingwood just to accommodate Collingwood supporters. And it's all because Collingwood strong-armed the MCC into accepting an offer that they couldn't refuse.

So you see, it's not about our club being bothered to provide the same service. And that's because our club is required to negotiate with our opponents rather than the stadium. Just as every other club has to do other than Collingwood. It's not that our administration staff can't be arsed. It's that they don't have the power to force stadiums into this kind of deal. We are not the biggest club in town, in case anyone isn't aware, we are the smallest club in town.

Just had a call from the club about all the opyions that will be available to me as l was one of the lucky ones that had their name pulled out and it will only cost me $100 to enter the draw............No thanks.
Bugger - I'm never that lucky.

That's not entirely accurate. Our club is not required to negotiate with other clubs, they have put themselves in this position by selling games. It is a copout to give them a free pass on service in these games.

I had that call two nights ago but it sounded like a regular lottery thing - it wasnt made clear to me that it was part of this new program to be honest.

This is my 41st consecutive year as a member, but why has some genius decided to re-name Diamond members as Blue and White after Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum ? love the colours, but it seems like a bit of a downgrade to me.

Jewelled tier rankings are very generic, overused, uninspiring and laaaaame.

You've made it to the top, you get something more specific and exclusive.

Me too. Their database and CRM program must be a complete mess.

I've never got the right code when I've needed it and always miss emails.

Does everyone get a membership pack too? Mine hasn't arrived.
Mine arrived at my current address just after Xmas. The club sent the rest of the family's to the wrong address, and Australia Post lost the parcel. Called the club, and still waiting for the replacement membership packages to arrive. Their databases aren't great.

I've also been cleaning out the garage, and found a heap of old membership cards. Somewhere, I'll have more cards going back to the 90s, but here's everything I found from 2001-2023. I can't find 2005, 2006 and 2009, but there is a random Pennant Club without a date, but has Primus as the sponsor, so I'm assuming that's from 2005 or 2006?

Do other people keep their membership cards?
