Review 2024 National Draft Thread Part Deux - Draft Picks: 2 (FOS), 27(MWHITLOCK), 62 (R4),76 (R5)

Its wild. But it can't be properly evaluated until we see how next year's draft pans out, how well Whitlock develops, and how well we perform.

If we finish as low as 10th and there are 4F/S and academy kids before then, it makes sense.
This is a type of thinking employed by astrologers.

27 & 19 for hopefully 10 plus isn’t horrendous - especially if Whitlock is good.
Hopefully 10+

What? How on earth do you think we’re coming 9th?

We’d need to win the same amount of games as we have in the past 4 seasons to come 9th.

Likely gross negligence in terms of unders.

They either pull something out of nothing next year or every North supporter has the right to be absolutely furious with what we’ve just done.

This is no slight on the player we took.

In shock. I understand uve gotta give a tall some time to develop. That was the old mantra draft kpp first then mids later. Obv ldu must be out the door then, because if we do shit the bed next year, with no potential pick in the first ten to grab the best available, then ldu must be out the door which means we'd be getting compensation. Ldu no matter how much he loves the boys at the club will be running an auction between hawks and saints, and maybe we just don't think he's worth what he's worth elsewhere. This would explain why we picked FOS. But still. That's crazy. That f1 shud have been worth grabbing both whitlocks, but we get one, and a pick most likely around 30 next year. Ldu must be gone. I read earlier today we were looking at pick 27 but it was for our future second rounder. Which would've been around the same pick next year most likely. This is a piss take

It wouldn't be 19, after a few Academy / FS picks next year maybe 21-22 odd?

Yes we're hoping for a top 10 pick, if we snag a top 5-8 you've been destroyed, it's always the gamble though
Just remember that the 2024 draft wasn't overly compromised, but with Free Agency compensation, academy & FS picks the last pick in the 1st round still ended up being at 27. It's much more likely that Richmond's F2 in 2025 will be in the early 30s

Richmond List Manager probably rang Brady as a pisstake and said happy to trade if the F1 is still up for grabs and like a virgin he jumped at the chance to lose it, even though it was with the ugliest chick on the planet.

Well at least the AFL world gets to laugh at us again next year when Richmond draft a gun with our F1 and their F2 pushes out into the late 30’s.

We at times, are the virgins of the AFL.

That is a really big IF.

As evident by your other supporters here.

After spending some time with you blokes in the last few weeks.

It actually bothers me what you just did.

What the **** is wrong with Rawlings and co?
Cry me a river, you addressed **** all of your needs sure we overpaid but we wanted outside run and a kpf and got them I’m ok with it

I think if I say what I’m really thinking it might get me banned guys.

So I’ll just say - I feel sorry for you. That might be the worst trade I’ve ever seen

I've seen two flags in person so don't feel too sorry for me.

lol for a while we were told by tiger posters nexts years draft is trash.

Also future trading - 2 years in advance comes in next years.

North Big Footy (myself included): we need to do something to get back into this draft with the talls available

Brady & Co desperately gagging to sell F1 from pick 8 onwards and finally find a buyer willing to take advantage

North Big Footy (myself included): NO NOT THAT!!!!!
Yeah no shit… look how late it was. We didn’t even get the higher rated twin ffs.

You could of had Tauru and a future first for 2…

And you did that…

Seriously sack Brady.
Awwww how’s those midfielders your looking for going……fudge off back to your own dark corner and sort out your own rabble before passing of so called thoughts of wisdom…

Lol, fake sympathy, we don't need it

Whitlock was ranked in a similar tier to Tauru and Travaglia all year, if not ahead. Look deeper than draft numbers and all of the players from 8 to 30 in this draft are pretty equal.
