Watson took a player completely out. Very different.
And he still ran his route. like 10-15 other plays you will see not called this weekend. if he just picked him off and didnt run his route i get it. but thats the whole mesh concept where you are allowed to run a route.

Enjoyable game.
Lions have ridden their luck and come up trumps yet again
They are still the Lions so will shit the bed in the playoffs. or have the luck run out, and Campbell's over aggressive 4th downs will cost them again.

Could be famous last words, but I kind of like the idea of him trying that fourth down routine against Carter and Davis

Takes 4 points off in a game decided by a FG as time expires.

Its just a bad call, thats what the slant/flat combo is designed for and its legal, you see it a bunch over a week and most of the time the defender sees it and gets forced to step back. If watson wasnt running a route sure its PI. but he is running a slant, you also see this where the defenders run into eachother because its a designed legal pick.

Lions will win, because the OL will hold. and its well known inside DL never draw holding calls on a run because they are held on every play

If they're going to allow it (I don't personally care either way), that play should just be spammed. If you've got a play that legally takes out a defender and leaves an offensive target free, call it 10-15 times a game.

It only takes out a defender if the defender is playing press. the Rams won a ring with plays like that.

Most of the time CBs see it and jump over or under it to avoid getting picked because its never called when the WR is running his route, its only called if its a clear pick and the player stops or moves into the defenders lane.

We never get holding calls on Carter anyway, just business as usual
We never get holding calls of Clark either. ILD just dont get them. they might get 2-3 a year on pass rush but never getting them on a run play.

If the lions had a genuine no 2 receiver,it would make their offence even more dangerous and lethal.
I know they have laporta as a pass catching TE, but you can't help but wonder the success a no 2 wide receiver would have with
  • teams deploying a more box defense to contain gibbs and Montgomery
  • St brown being double teamed on some occasions.
