BS call if you ask me, he got there right as he was dropping it.

I called it the right call in the context that they always call those (violent hit as opposed to illegal hit).

Not sure what Nance was watching either, it was secondary contact to the head not directly.
 
What is defenceless? Hes protecting himself from Davis coming at him. Had no option and could have cleaned him up way harder.
NFL don't care for defenders. It's unlucky because he didn't try and hurt him. But you can't turn invisible.

Even if he caught it, it would likely of been flagged since there wouldn't of been time to be changed from protected to a runner

The rule explanation is clear but selectively applied. I'm just not sure how the Bronco defender is supposed to defend it.

You can't. It's unlucky. Just like some RTP calls under thr bodyweight rule or late slides. You can't turn invisible. It's hard to play defence now.

I've banged on this for a while but I reckon if the defender uses their arms to tackle then those defenseless receiver and qb hits shouldn't be called.

It's worked out well in rugby league.
