I'm pretty certain that Fry, Fazldeen, Gillet and Greenaway who all would have had reasonable expectations to play Allies (especially Gillet) have all missed out.

Addinsall, Patterson and Murray also not selected.

Breaking:
I have conformation of the Suns and Lions Academy Allies representation:
Bold = Bottom Ager
Lions:
Daniel Annable
Ryan Gilder
Ty Gallop
Billy Richardson
Fergus Mcfadyen

Suns:
Leonardo Lombard
Zai Milane
Kalani White
Zeke Uwland

Caleb Nancarrow

Really shocking omissions the main being Tom Gillet incredibly stiff.

Can only assume non footy matters involved in some calls, or personality clashes.

Or the old Shifter Sheehan or Mark Browning come over the top and pick people according to an agenda.

Lachlan Gulbin miss out for any reason? Been okay in talent league. Top age, seemed higher than I expected back when the season started. Then code even had him in the top 75 prospects list

Victorian clubs believe Lions trying to hide Gillet.

Probably almost counter productive to leave him out and have everyone wonder why if thats the Lions strategy

Highly doubt there is any truth to that. How many rucks do you expect the allies squad to include afterall?

If there is an injury in that space you'd expect him to get the call up.

Lions coach is Allies coach.

A poorly performed 17 year old Suns ruck has been picked, as has another Suns ruckman as well, who also didn't fire a shot in the Talent League or academy series.

His non selection makes no sense to any keen observer, whatever the reason, it couldn't possibly be on field performance related, and from all reports he is a great kid with no attitude issues, a committed trainer and ticks all the boxes.

The spread of selections across the various club academies/states may have more to do with it than outright deceptive conduct by the coach, as you are inferring. There may be some politics at play to ensure each zone has a proportionate representation at the carnival. In the end who really knows!

my opinion on how they do things has been long standing over an 8+ year period, but now with direct involvement its worse than I previously thought.

Unsure if that opinion has contributed, so now best to just to leave it alone.

Two of the best 6-8 standout kids in this age group won't be taking part, and probably 4-5 of the best 15. Putting aside that, the treatment of all of them (selected or not) is horrendous.

Disgruntled parent alert.

Two of the best would be Levi and Thomson, and as I understand it from around the traps - both were left out for attitude reasons. Levi didn't even make the first cut, and is probably in the best 3 kids behind McPherson and Owen.

Thomson probably should have seen the warning signs from that, but clearly didn't adjust. Given your username, he is obviously your kid - you should maybe talk to him about his attitude instead of blaming the coaches or the system.

He's also not as good as those kids, but yeah - he's in the next handful.

I imagine attitude is a big contributing factor with the academies. Clubs are not willing to take the risk on players in the academies if their attitude is poor compared to the other academy players.

Obviously going to be a much stronger year for the Sydney academies based on those games. The Lions v Suns game was almost unwatchable in comparison.

Next games for the northern academy teams all coming up this Monday 8th July at People First Stadium, Gold Coast

Sydney Swans vs Northern Territory at 10am

Livestream:

GC Suns vs GWS Giants at 12:25pm

Brisbane Lions vs Tasmania at 2:50pm

I can't believe the next absolute top Interstate F/S vs Northern Academy eligibility clash after Nick Blakey looms as a North F/S and the Sydney Academy again with Aidan McCartney.

Of all the situations....

Only saving grace this time is Jason doesn't work for the Swans like John was at the time.
