Probably thought he needed a change of scenery after his dad passing away and you can’t begrudge him for that or for heading to a team right in the cup window. I feel a few strong chats with himself and Fages late in the season relating to his future playing time at the lions might have forced his hand to return

I believe it will be the week before the match simulation against the Bulldogs, most likely the Thursday or Friday I’d imagine. Not sure of a time, but I believe the venue would most likely be at Bunjil Bagora. Will chase it up and see if I can get any more details.

The return of Ratten is such an underrated bonus. He contributed to the improvement of Mitchell as a player and does again now as a coach.

Could argue that Blank is almost our most important player this year (structurally).

If he can stand up and become a reliable key position defender and allow Sicily to roam free and control the half back line we will be sitting pretty. A freed up Sicily will win us games or footy off his own boot (he is that good at that role).

But if he struggles and we are forced to resort to Sic playing on guys 10cm taller and 10kg heavier than him again we will be in all sorts of strife.

I’ve argued that when Sic is on his game his intercept marking easily saves 5 or 6 goals a game.
If a forward kicks 5 or 6 they are considered best players in the comp. What’s the difference? He gets some accolades but not nearly as many as he deserves.
