Butler, Croc, Frenchy, Finn, Newk amongst the crew who just finished before Weddle put on a show and ran out the entire test.
Bennetts, BMac, Seamus, Wardy and Ramma also impressed.

Worps, Sic, Moorey, Dimma and Scrim ran 200’s then came and supported the others.

Sully, CJ and Mass did separate running drills. As did Lewis.

Did DGB do the beep test?

He's the one who really needs to impress this pre season. Show us why he was a top pick.

Have we appointed a replacement for Chris Newman yet?

Jai finishing the beep test in that group (alongside Finn and ahead of Ward) is very impressive.

In for a big 2024.

He did it, but along with Blanck and Tucker didn’t trouble the pointy end of the test. Tucker really struggled and needed Simpson to come in by his side and push him along with encouragement, until he was completely spent.
They may still have beaten their PB’s so I won’t judge them.

I forgot to mention that Harry, Stephens and Hustwaite also went well.

CJ is such a specimen. All muscle, just like Weddle. Reckon he’s going to be like a new recruit for us.

Summer optimism and all, but those two could make us a very much improved side in 2024.

Nobody at the club has ever done that. How many in the AFL have I wonder?

17 is considered to be elite.

Anything above 19 is truly the elite of the elite.

21 is almost unheard of. There's urban legends that Beckham and Giggs have completed 21 but nothing verified.

I'd not heard of anyone in the AFL. I've read that about those two, but like you say, never confirmed by anyone.

It is insane.

FWIW Hill scored 16.01 in his combine test and he was (still is) a freakish runner.

To run at a level of 21 you need to cover 20m in <3.89 seconds. This is all while you've been sprinting, stopping and turning (cumulative almost 5km) for the last 22 minutes...

So Weddle definitely did complete it? You witnessed it SYL? Amazing. How did his team mates react?
Yes, he did, I and others including TheFourPillars witnessed it.
Every player out on the park was watching on as he did so. Then they all got around him and gave a pat/rub on the head/back.

3 minutes later, after a slow lap of the square they were all doing skills again.

Thanks. Wow.

I'm surprised with Weddle's performance, but I'm equally surprised that we're doing the beep test. It seems like ages since that was considered a decent test at the highest level of sport.

Honestly never understood why it came out of vogue, considering the ability to push at a high intensity while exhausted is very important for AFL players.

Can confirm that the skills post beep test were pretty ordinary, with fatigue taking hold.

I put the % likelihood of Weddle completing the actual beep test at 0%.
I am sure he completed whatever audio we had though.
So What No GIF
