Probably be the front runner I agree.I can see Will being our next Captain
Ginni reminds me of Chicky (Daniel) with the way he plays!
Think if we improve as a team then these 3 players will be responsible.
These 3 stepping up will be big for our midfield. Will allow us to more heavily rotate through the middle without much decrease in performance unlike what we saw this year.Hope Mackenzie has a big pre-season.
Need Ward and MacDonald to take the next steps.

Believe the majority of the team just need to improve gradually whilst the above need to show large improvements if that makes sense.
Said he'll be training there over the pre season but may end up playing down back. Versatility is the keyHardwick training as a forward is weird. Just a one off in case he needs to be thrown there?
NedIf Weddle, DGB and Day all take ‘next steps’ we’d also improve big time.
Who would have the biggest ‘next step’ impact? Interesting to hear others thoughts?
The next big step is when the group gets the team mojo happening fully, when all the bits start to gel properly. Yes, there will be lots of individuals improvement as some of the players have pretty high ceilings but we are looking for big jump when it all starts to comes together. We have seen signs already but it's been inconsistent and not sustained. If Weddle, DGB and Day all take ‘next steps’ we’d also improve big time.

I wonder who would play his role locking down on small forwards in his absence down back. Thinking one of Weddle/CJ/DenverSaid he'll be training there over the pre season but may end up playing down back. Versatility is the key
Is he injured?No Chol

Bodie trained today with his mum and dad watching training.Might be looking to give Seamus a chance to develop those lockdown skills to complement his offensive abilities.
Bodie Ryan may have his training fast tracked as well.

I believe Chol isn't training as there is a mandatory number of weeks that they must have off before starting training. I believe he will be with the squad as of Monday next week.Is he injured?
If not, I'd have liked to have seen him out there.
It's not like fitness was his biggest attribute tbh.
A big pre-season, dropping the obvious extra weight, and increasing stamina would go a long way to convincing people he has bought into the requirements to be a successful AFL player at the top level.
I hope there is a reason for his absence - any idea mate please?
Dimma started off as a forward and was very handy at it. Always good to sharpen the tools up in case he needs to use them. Thanks for that mate.
Still seems an interesting decision given we already have Ginni, Watson, Moore, CMac, Breust, Sully, Buts, Bennetts and Chad.
Seamus, BMac, Ryan? would likely have greater focus on developing their defensive skills if Dimma isn't always there, through the preseason at least.
Fattening up his free agency compo by showing his versatility. Thanks for that mate.

No Gunston, McCabe, Reeves, Wingard or Chol
Lewis and CJ doing running
Dimma training with the forwards
Watson looks incredibly quick & his defensive pressure was great in half field drills
Ethan Phillips and Tyler Brown trained with the team
DGB left the track early after being knocked high by Sully
Ramsden running against Weddle was elite
Ward training as an inside mid
It's like people think that Sam has no idea where his players are........Yeah, you've gone hard and too early.
Check out the pics of Chol on Hawks insta.
Guy has dropped a tonne of weight and looks extremely good.
Wish supporters would give the players, whether Chol or Ginni or others, just the mere-est chance to show what they're about at the Club.
Hate to cut Tassie Cryptik's lunch here, but Conor Nash's meteoric improvement over the last 2 seasons has me believing he's still developing and could be a top 50 player in the comp. His average player rating from 2021 to 2023 has pretty much doubled, all he needs to do is find a way to impact forward and maybe kick 2 goals every 3 games and he's almost there.Group 1 - to move into top 50 discussion (they may already be there but keep improving)
Day
Newk
Lewis
Moore
Group 2 - breakout contenders
Ward
Mcdonald
Weddle
Reeves
Ginnivan
Group 3 - emerging (this group will be very interesting)
Butler
Mckenzie
Meek
DGB
Mitchell
Watson
Blanck
Hustwaite
Serong
O Sullivan
Bennetts
