For the first time in a while I feel like there’s good competition for spots at the small forward position.

Hopefully now Moore can split his time playing as a half forward/midfielder. He put up really impressive numbers in 2022 when he attended some centre bounces.

You're not wrong. Moore, Ginni, Watson is a hell of a collection of small forwards!

With Bruest aswell likely playing most of the year, its going to be super hard for the other lads, including Butler, to get a run.

Reckon Butler has a proverbial mountain to climb to make it to best 22. Same goes for JOS and Bennetts.

From the reports so far it's looking like he's going to leave no stone unturned in his climb

Butler is expected to improve next year and push his case for a spot in the best 22. So far most of the pre-season training reports have been positive.

The addition of Ginnivan & Watson, plus at some point during the second half of next year there’s a good chance that Bennetts will play some games as well.

I like Moore as a 60/40 forward/mid.

He seems to kick more goals with this ratio as well instead of being a pure half forward funnily enough.

I saw in the clip of the guys doing run throughs DGB did look bigger, like he had filled out a bit more through the shoulders.

Agree. Looks much bigger.

This would give Sam a lot to play with ……. unleash Weddle to give him an opportunity to develop in other areas of the ground. This kid has the traits to be one best in the versatility stakes!

My main reaction was to thank god I'm not expected to work that hard at my job.

Newcombe is just an absolute tank. Those young mids look like kids wrestling with Dad in the combat training.

If Butler comes along we are laughing. Such a gifted athlete just needs it to translate on the field.

It's interesting looking at Schoey, and also the discussion around Duryea in the Bramble thread. Both players put in the effort and were rewarded with premierships. A good lesson for all of our current players.

He does look bigger - to start with, then you realise it's Ambrosio 20m behind him - and Ambrosio looks bigger!

He's put a bit on, but nothing to suggest he will contain Tom hawkins

It's his fitness anyway that's the area of concern - he can get to 100+KG, but if he can only run out 40% of a game - nothing changes.

Can trackwatchers tell us if he looks to have added some endurance?
