Weitering and Taylor are clearly the two best KPDs for this 1v1 loss % metric. Weitering significantly ahead of Taylor.

Allir has half as many 1v1s so I think it's unfair to include him.

May, Collins and Andrews aren't too far behind Taylor.

It's time for Weitering to be rewarded, I think.
Is there a good list of the 1v1 loss stats around? Or is that one of the stats that you have to look up player by player?

I don't think Blake Acres has the skills to be AA, however just curious who would be the top 4-5 genuine wings in the league?

McCluggage and Gulden come to mind and probably the standouts. After that would Blake be in the mix?

As far as the key defensive posts it's obvious that Weitering, Taylor, Andrews and May are the four leaders. All have over 20 one-on-ones, all have a loss rate of under 20%, all have strong intercept games. I have Andrews and Taylor currently but that could change.

Holmes might be picked on the wing, Josh Daicos has been very good for a poor side. Actually feel JMac has been way better than Gulden for us this year personally. They probably pick Walsh there which is somewhat justified anyway.

McCluggage hasnt played genuine wing for a while. Moved fully on ball the last few years

Ah yeah that makes sense. Of all the positions that they squeeze in the elite mids, wing is probably the most justified.

Generally I wouldn't do it (prefer picking two wingman) and I think you can justify Gulden who plays everywhere, Daicos is more the true wingman so I wouldn't be annoyed if they went that way. They might consider Nic Martin despite him being more behind the ball this year. Assuming we come top 2, Gulden is probably one of the wings, then it's a lottery. I wouldn't be annoyed if JMac was picked over Gulden who has been good no doubt, Jmac has been just as good for us just doesn't get the accolades. They might pick Merrett or Walsh as those two sort of play everywhere. At least this year they won't plonk mills (who played inside mid all year) on a wing and leave McCluggage out that year

Josh Daicos would be up there, although he started the season a bit slow.

James Aish anyone? Sam Switkowski?

Apparently the number 1 rated wing has been D'Ambrosio. Probably doesn't make the team might need a few quality seasons before he's a serious chance but massive kudos to the guy, has really established himself this year.

Jordan Clark has collected 17 coaches votes from the last 2 weeks
If he keeps this form he should be a lock

Can't help but think if Ben King played for a bigger club he'd be in more peoples teams right now.

averaging 3 goals a game and leading the Coleman at the midway point of the season.

Wins the Coleman he makes it. It’s an even bunch but can see them going the ones Hogan-Curnow-McKay (2 of the 3) as well. Hard to tell in that position

It's really a pretty simple decision when it comes to key forwards for the most part - who kicks the most goals.

As of right now, if you took any of them (other than probably Curnow) above King at the half way point of the season, it's the wrong decision.

Hogan has still had big games. King probably needs that couple of big games so to speak. If there’s ever another year where the Coleman leader doesn’t make it this year is it. It’s looking a very low total for forwards as spread of goals is the new big thing. I mean it’s likely Hayward will lead our club.

No. He may make the team but that reasoning is wrong.

Jesse Hogan has more goals + goal assists than King, with a game in hand.

Ben King not in the mix for mine. Although he's been kicking goals consistently Ive barely even noticed him in games and that's reflected in his disposal count and overall influence on games imo. Georgiades had 4 against us on the weekend and I barely even knew he was playing, King is fairly similar imo.

Waterman, Curnow and Hogan the top 3 for me with McKay and King the next wrung down.

Imagine not including alex Pearce. WILD.

This almost tops someone saying Mcluggage has better disposal than Merret I read in a different thread.

Blows my mind how people can state stuff as obvious when they are so clearly wrong.

Pearce is behind all four in his loss % by a fair margin. He's at 26.8%, which is hardly terrible, but not to Weitering (7.1%), Taylor (11.5%), May (12.5%) or Andrews (14.3%) level. He's ahead of Weitering offensively (more SI and SL) but behind the other three.

You can mount a case of having him ahead of Weitering, but the other three are ahead.

May has slipped badly.
