No Walsh. Been putrid for 6 weeks straight now.

Newman or McKay more of a chance from us but doubt either make the team

Langford is ahead of Martin

Surprised you’re not pushing for Lester or Ah Chee to be in the team 👍🏻
I'm not wrong about Neale being captain best team in the last 11 weeks clug has been fantastic this year and Rayner last 2 months puts him in the best players such an amazing impact player

Wrong Green/e for us… Toby.

The score involvements stat would be a more meaningful way of ranking players if we were to remove their ‘behinds’ tally from their total SI’s

Kicking a behind (missing the goal) is a bad play. It’s a downer for the team.

They’re handing the ball back to the opposition. It’s basically a turnover. Nobody really cares about adding 1 point to the team’s total score (which is why defenders are to happy to concede a rushed behind).

The only exception to this is when scores are level late in the game when any score will do because it gives your team the lead.

Here’s the adjusted score involvements for small/med forwards…
(goals + score involvements for teammates)

6.3 Dylan Moore
6.1 Gryan Miers
5.8 Toby Greene
5.5 Elijah Hollands
5.4 Tyson Stengle
5.3 Brent Daniels
5.3 Connor Macdonald
5.2 Tom Papley
5.2 Ben Keats
5.2 Izak Rankine
5.1 Lachie Fogarty
4.9 Jamie Elliott
4.9 Rhylee West
4.8 Josh Rachele
4.8 Dustin Martin
4.7 Matt Guelfi
4.7 Brad Close
4.6 Jade Gresham
4.5 Jack Ginnivan
4.5 Cam Rayner
4.5 Liam Henry
4.5 Sam Switkowski
4.4 Darcy Byrne-Jones
4.4 Will Hoskin-Elliott
4.3 Mitch Owens
4.2 Jack Higgins
4.2 Ben Long
4.2 Kysaiah Pickett
4.1 Cody Weightman
4.1 Paul Curtis
4.1 Jamie Cripps
4.1 Bobby Hill
3.9 Charlie Cameron

Not really, players shank kicks that should’ve been goals and vice versa. A better measure would be to add up the expected score of each shot for the people involved in the chain.

Player ratings essentially do this. They somewhat take the expected score from where the player was in the position they got the ball and then see how much extra value they create for the expected score. So a player who’s wide open running into the goals with a teammate doesn’t get much extra value if they kick the goal or pass it off to the teammate since they didn’t do anything more than what was expected of them.

Who was the ‘half back’ you asserted to in your post?

Not Sheezel. It's like those guys from the early 2000s who used to rack up useless uncontested marks in defence.

How were players from the early 2000s in anyway relevant to the discussion you posted about? I don’t even know why you brought half backs into the discussion.

It’s ok if you didn’t realise Sheezel went into the midfield 10 weeks ago and has dominated ever since. He had 25 contested possessions out of 36 against Geelong a couple of weeks ago as a reference.

The AA penal usually takes into account the last half of the season when players are neck and neck Clug has had a good season and is a goal kicking midfielder Rayner probably missing out this season though but I understand you dislike for Lions is probably as strong as my dislike for the Pies
Whos on the panel? Cornes, Betts, Buckley

Good list. I think Sinclair gets a mention.

Jacko Pav Bolton Holmes Mahoney are all the former players interesting that there's no one from Queensland on the panel
I thought Betts did it last year.

How much do they consider peak potential? Or is it total output over the year

I being’s honest Clug plays Wing Rayner has been better than Heeney the last 2 months
Again Clugg is not playing wing. He played about 3 games on the wing and the rest of the season hes been the third midfielder. Even with Ashcroft returning and Rayner in hot form McCluggage is still playing the third most onball time behind Neale and Dunkley.

McCluggage has had a really great last few months and is a good shout out to make the squad but he's not playing enough enough wing to be counted in the first team.

Rayner has been as good as any for the last month or so. But he's clearly not going to be pushing out the other HFF - Greene, Moore, Heeney, Bont, etc have had the better year. Although if Rayner plays like this next year he would be close to a lock

According to Cornes he's a massive chance for a wing spot when Brad Johnson named he's team on Wednesday night so he has at least one vote
