Paying 10 and 11 instead of 10 and 18 seems like a minuscule difference for the upside of Bolton. It is overs, but trading in requires paying a premium for good players.

I mean, we're not exactly in a premiership window now. Still lacking finals experience (which we shot ourselves in the foot with). Missing our three most important positional players (Darcy - Ruck, Pearce - KPD, Treacy - KPF) also played a big part.
I don't think Bolton is the difference between a flag and not. I think Bolton + Warner or Pickett or and handy small forward draftee plus a little more experience is closer to it. Going too hard for Bolton this year drastically hinders our ability to close that gap. You're making WAY too much of the time issue for us considering we're still one of the youngest lists in the competition.

Out of all the Richmond players up for grabs Bolton is going to make the bigger difference to Freo's chances of playing finals. I do believe Richmond's request for Fremantle's 1st 2 picks is a little high, but i'm sure the recruiters will make the right decision for the team as they have in the last few years.
