We aren't a ****ing charity. I get the theory, attract better talent for Sandy by handing out a list spot to one of a dozen or so players when we should be picking from a pool of thousands. The better talent helps our kids develop, I get it.

Only problem is that a player like Wilkie (prior to being drafted) would never come half way across the country to play VFL. In fact, most players we've attracted already have a Sandy connection.

I will categorically say the 'experiment' didn't work this year. Noone at Sandy deserves a list spot and if we got a gun in who kills it, chances are we don't get access to them prior to a nothing rookie spot that we've promised someone.

It's ****ing stupid, it's all rainbows and butterflies in theory, but in practice it's dumb when list spots are so hard to come by.

You dont think calling a bunch of guys trying their guts out every week "spuds" isnt a shitty attitude? Players do actually read these forums and if you think that VFL players arent reading the forum about their own team youre naive as hell.

Get a grip! We are an AFL ****ing football club, the top of the tree, it's a brutal industry - we shouldn't be in the business of giving participation awards out when someone else more deserving will miss out. If someone who isn't good enough gets their knickers in a knot over a random person on an internet forum calling them a spud then they won't survive 5 minutes with the big boys.

I'm ****ing done, maybe I'm naive as hell, but I'm going to be naive as hell elsewhere I'm over it.

I have no doubt there was a handshake agreement re: Sheil, related to Gresham and us getting decent compo. When he hurt his knee, we delayed it by 12 months, but the salary dump has allowed/will allow them to pay Gresham enough, or at least structure the deal that maximised our compo.

Nothing to do with Gresham and from what I have been told we never had an interest in Sheil apart from a cursory look like any club does for dozens of players.

The talk all came out of the Dodo's pet reporters.
Maybe this year we might be interested for a future 4th rounder but about as much interest as last year.
I have no interest in the soft spud.

I can't see that we can have Crouch , Jones ,and Shiel , or Crouch, Jones and Parker.
If we lose Crouch....Jones , Shiel and Parker would probably be a bit much too.
If we de-listed Jones we might be able to do it.
