USA 2024 US Presidential Election: Trump vs Harris (pt II)

The far left don't always choose to vote for the Dems in the US. It's a horseshoe graph, with the MAGAs on one side, and closely next to them, Bernie Sanders' mob.

If NATO step in to assist a country not part of their treaty could trigger a wider war.

its all a bit of a crock of shit anyway.

Russia is a NATO "Partnership for Peace" country..............Ukraine is a "Enhanced opportunity Partner" yet they are at war.

Just dumb bureaucracy
Why do you and people like you keep forgetting that Russia invaded Ukraine illegally?

Choosing someone that aligns with your ideology is fine. Perjuring yourself in confirmation hearings probably isn't.

From what I've seen over the decades is that Dem nominees have far fewer skeletons in the closet. None in my adulthood have been rejected. The Dem vetting process is far superior to the GOP's, as it has shown in the decisions they have been able to argue reasonably.
Then take the GOP noms since the 70s, Bork lol, Miers was gone so quickly I can barely remember her nom. And of course the ones that got rammed through...I remember Thomas' hearings with disgust, for him and the GOP questioners. The Trump noms, which should really have asterisks next to their names. As the picture posted above, GOP noms have no problem with misleading or false testimony.
And if anyone is ok with the Federalists/Heritage Orgs spending hundreds of millions of dollars just to get the justices THEY want, and federal justices around the country (hello Judge Cannon). Has the Dems ever done so much in the name of ideology? I think maybe because, and it could be their Achilles heel, their ideology includes playing by the book and with some sort of honor.

Hmmm...

I don't know. stefcep's post above provided a few ways the Dems can be at least depicted as a left wing option over the republicans, and while it shouldn't be groundbreaking that being pro-regulation or taxes is left wing, it serves at least to depict them as a centre-left.

Compared to the republicans sure, compared to most of the western world, not so much.

The accusation of sexual assault in of itself wasn't the major issue as it was just an accusation, it was the blocking of any investigation into it by the Trump Whitehouse.

Having said that only two supreme court justices have had credible claims of sexual harassment/assault against them, both of them are very right wing.

In terms of him being an active partisan, he was heavily involved in working with the GOP, including on the Starr Report, that's cool, its his prerogative, but not sure that then means you can be an impartial judge.
and also in Kavanaugh's case some reporting that he was helped out of a financial situation by unknown entities at the time of the nomination. To me, that was very suss.

The republicans, murdoch media and online platforms have expertly got people riled up about culture war issues, most largely have nothing to do with the Democratic Party and it’s usually them taking some fringe issue and making it seem huge.

Then the people who buy into it will vote against their best economic interests taking on this imaginary woke bogeyman.
I think it was Morning Joe that was pushing the post-election narrative that people were just worried about their families, and schools, and something to do with trans and litter boxes, etc. It showed that they discounted the infrastructures improvements, inflation fighting and economy rebuilding by the Biden admin, and remembered the culture war nonsense that was beamed at them 24/7.
I know a guy, a teacher in Nevada, who said his large district (300,000 +) in the past ten years has had one case of a trans kid (high school) wanting to play on girl's team. The district official in charge had replied with a flat "no". It really is a non-issue, but was put into the forefront of people's minds.
The Dems at the minimum have to up their PR game.

Educate yourself.

The democrats blocked Judge Janice Rogers Brown appointment in 2003, a black female Judge.
Wow yeah thats totally the same thing :drunk:

That’s false. Brown was never nominated to serve on the Supreme Court.

Democrats, including then-Sen. Joe Biden, did initially filibuster Brown when then-President George W. Bush first nominated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 2003. Democrats were opposed to Brown because of her conservative views on several subjects.

But in May 2005, after a group of 14 Democrats and Republicans reached a bipartisan agreement not to filibuster judicial nominees except under “extraordinary circumstances,” Brown’s nomination to the appellate court was allowed to proceed and she was confirmed in a 56-43 vote. Biden voted against her.

If false equivalence was a sport you guys would be olympic standard.

Trump will receive near or same numver of votes as in 2020. Harris has received 13m less than Biden so it looks like Democrat voters are the difference.
You think ALL of the EXACT same people voted for Trump this year as they did last election?

And you think that ONLY people who voted for Biden last election didn't vote this year?

There is zero swing voter impact this year?

Or are you just angling for a bit of a troll? I think you're just angling for a bit of a troll.

Yeah, too stupid to reply to. A honest poster would have added some sort of receipt. But nope, just a shit take that ignores McConnell's and Leo's moves in opposition to norms. [smh]

Yeah it is. The Democrats blocked a Judges appointment nominated by the Republicans She may have risen to the Supreme Court given the opportunity. She was black and she was a woman. But she was a conservative.

Yes, I do. By using it, you demonstrate a trite, pop understanding of the political spectrum, and demean yourself for the trouble.
My understanding, after following people here and on other social media sites for over 20 years, confirms my belief that in some cases, some far left wing electors hold similar views to far right wing supporters, hence me putting forward the horseshoe theory. You appear to hold a different opinion, but by suggesting I hold a trite, pop understanding of the political spectrum, and declaring I'm demeaning myself, you are showing that you have an intolerance to my beliefs. Which is disappointing.
