Story in the Atlantic suggests that I was wrong for saying Biden should drop out, and that we, unfortunately, missed out on this.

At the end of June, in the afterglow of a debate performance that would ultimately prompt President Joe Biden to end his campaign for reelection, Donald Trump startled his aides by announcing that he’d come up with a new nickname for his opponent.

“The guy’s a ******. He’s ******ed. I think that’s what I’ll start calling him,” Trump declared aboard his campaign plane, en route to a rally that evening, according to three people who heard him make the remarks: “******ed Joe Biden.”

I just read that article, and it’s very good and well written and very much in keeping with the chaos of Trump world. wtf anyone would work for him even with the potential riches is behind my comprehension. You are more likely to end up as a pariah blamed by Trump for everything and some over zealous MAGA nuts wanting you dead.

Also you were hardly the only one sounding the alarm on Biden, I and many others were pre debate, and 90% wanted him gone after the debate.

However if Trumpy decided to use this new nickname, well. Sadly he’d probably still be in the same position he is in now, with near a 50-50 chance of winning.

Trump loses, Ted Cruz loses, Josh Hawley loses, and the dems win the house and the senate. That would be the dream. Feel like it’s not beyond the realms of possibility now.

I made the mistake of jumping on and having a look at what Nate Silver had to say about the Selzer Poll. And holy **** some of the replies. It's mind boggling. This one poll is going to ruin her because she is never right.

Yet she called 2016 and 2020 for Trump in Iowa and wasn't that far off

It was a well balanced article articulating why the poll is so revered yet explaining the complexities of the data.

I don't get the hate for Nate, but each to their own.

At the moment the world’s facing a radicalised and emboldened right, with the Bidens/Scholzes/Starmers/Macrons/Trudeaus/Albaneses of the world offering holding pattern blandness in response - there’s no project there, just a promise to plug as many of the holes in the dam wall as they can. There desperately does need to be an alternative program for people to buy into, and it’s unfortunate that the threat of Trump means we can only continue the holding pattern with Harris.

What is clear that since the 2 early polls by both Tax and Selzer the numbers have come in significantly

Anyway, it's all hands on deck right now for Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The polls are close (shocker!). We have a real toss-up on our hands (shocker, again!). It's anyone's ballgame as we near the two-minute warning.

So, naturally, the Harris team sent Hillary Clinton to … FLORIDA … this afternoon on her behalf. And, shockingly, nobody showed up.

It's almost like Florida ain't the swing state it used to be. Weird.
