USA 2024 US Presidential Election: Trump vs Harris (pt II)

Remove this Banner Ad

This election proved that once and for all. Most voters don't care about a person's skin colour, sex, sexual orientation or faith. They are focused on health, wellbeing, opportunity and general prosperity.
But in the Kamala thread, you posted a video of Walz set to Dancing Queen and said the following:

“So let me ask you - do you think a guy that prances around like that is going to attract the black male vote? Does a guy like that scream "VP" to you?”

How does the way a candidate “prances around” affect people’s health, wellbeing, opportunity and general prosperity?

This Judge ??

Retired D.C. Circuit Judge Janice Rogers Brown called upon to defend John Eastman, characterized the conservative legal scholar as a meticulous researcher, thoroughly prepared with an in-depth knowledge of chosen topics.

Brown, who also served as a California Supreme Court justice who now is a fellow at University of California Berkeley Law School, was the final of five character witnesses to testify on Eastman’s behalf at his California State Bar Court trial on ethical and legal violations
Is that the reason she was not confirmed like other GOP noms had been?
I mean more than supporting friend who made an historical, if not treasonous, error in professional judgement in devising a way to steal an election?

He wasnt expecting to make such a decision
True, but being such an intelligent, God-fearing man with experience in politics, he would have first-took the thing as preposterous and refused outright. He was prepared to do what mother father wanted him to do. He showed his true colors with his first reaction, like aping Trump moving the water bottle at the cabinet? meeting.

I know it's a big word but have you heard of the term inauguration?
He said and I quote, “if elected, I will fix that war within 24 hrs”.
He’s been elected for more than 24hrs.
He made the claim several times and prefaced it with not after inauguration, at his rallies.
He lied, he’ll let Putin run rampart and try to destroy NATO!
Putin owns him, he’s Putin top guy!👍

Who would have guessed Trump would not only win but would win the popular vote by 4 million+? Can't even wheel out the "I blame the EC system" excuses on this one lol!

In a way that is good, the Dems can’t fool themselves into thinking they don’t need to course correct.

Who am I kidding of course they will, they do whatever Joe Scarborough would do most likely.

Good luck. If that what u learned from this election… try it again in 4 years and see how u go.

Like i said… self reflection is the only way for the dems to win against trump like campaigns.

Again there are lessons for the Dems, but I still maintain reverse the parties in charge for this election and the incumbent still loses, same for 2020.

People often come up with these big pronouncements that it is a total rejection of left or right wing ideology whoever wins, when it’s almost never the case.

I’d like the Dems to get their messaging and narrative right, and 100% less identity politics and talk about lifting everyone up. Still go into battle for minorities but not at the expense of white men. I don’t this specific campaign fell into that trap, but the really need to get away from the CNN/MSNBC orthodoxy on things.

Just makes them seem like corporate establishment bores.

If only we had lived the Bernie 2016 or even Bernie 2020 timeline.

I agree mate.

Its pretty simple what happened.

It's the economy, stupid.

When was the last time the economy got worse and the incumbent party won?

In 1980 the economy had tanked, 84 it was good, 88 it was good, in 92 it was good, however, much like this year, the perception of the economy was that it was in recession. Data would later show the recession ended 20 months before the election. 96 was good. 2000 had the dot com crash in the summer. 2004 was just ok. 2008 it was a disaster. 2012 it was improving. 2016 might be the exception but people's perception of the economy was also bad. 2020 it had tanked from covid. Polls in January showed Trump winning re-election. and 2024 70% of voters thought the economy was bad.

I questioned weather or not this economy factor would still decide elections. I wasn't sure Republicans could actually win the popular vote or make large gains, but this election proves to me its still the deciding factor. Further evidenced by the fact Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut all moved sharply to the Republicans, the closest votes in these states since Bush 41. More evidence of this is Democrats winning either 4 or 5 senate seats in the swing states Trump flipped, clearly Democrats voting for the economy at the top of the ticket but voting party line down ballot.

To the majority all the scandals etc and outrage are just noise, they just look at their personal circumstance.

Makes you think the Dems could run P Diddy and if the economy was bad in 2028 they’d win.

Spot on. In 4 years time or even 2 years things will probably change.

They did. Mutliple times. Enough is enough.

TBH that isn' even my purpose.

No-one here will be honest and say they knew of the Democrats past shananigans with respect to blocking Judicial nominations. They simply believed the MSM narrative of the stacked Supreme Court oblivious to how it got there.

Just like the narrative the South is an economic basket case when it is growing faster and contributes more GDP than some key Democrat States. Nobody checks because it confirms what they want to believe.

Trump era, high road not so much. You can love the lower taxes, deregulation etc, doesn’t change what he tried in the aftermath of 2020.

Though I have learnt that Democratic norms mean more to me than most nowadays, it is what it is.

No....they don't!!

They will focus on merit and opportunity.

As it should be.

But you said:

“do you think a guy that prances around like that is going to attract the black male vote? Does a guy like that scream "VP" to you?

I reckon the voters of the US know the answer to that one.”

What kind of dancing style portrays “merit and opportunity.”

Any more buzzwords you can come up with.
I’m woke, so I need to know your pronouns before we can meet in our safe space, we can’t have those snowflakes get offended by open dialogues and critical thinking, we need our critical race theory to be open free speech if our 2nd amendment is to follow our 1st.
You fixed that light yet cupcakes?

Really disappointing that he is breaking promises already. The Trumpists must be feeling shocked at the lie. You’ve four more years of broken promises guys, strap yourselves in.

Did you steal this word salad from Kamala.

You're mixing apples and oranges here. Which is not surprising where you are concerned.

One conversation is about the policies and ideology of the Republican party under the leadership of Donald Trump.

The other is about a conscious decision that was taken by Kommola as to who would be her preferred / the most suitable Dem VP.

Try to keep up.

Poster say do your research ,I did
