That's because it is not the place for rational argument. The conditions for rigorous yet civilised debate are non-existent.

It is, simply put, nothing more than a socialist echo chamber. One where it's okay, for example, to hurl personal insults at people who don't embrace the echo chamber narrative, with zero consequences, as well as the implementation of other obvious and bizarre double-standards.

I accepted this some time ago, and adapted accordingly.

In short - if you are seeking rational debate in an impartial environment, then you are in the wrong place.

I trust this clarifies the matter.
What are the conditions for civilised debate?
I don’t recall uncritical acceptance of statements without factual basis as being a criteria
This is all the trump side has to praise their candidate (the dingbat still keeps stating the election was stolen ffs)

Focus determines one's reality. IMHO, people like you focus on the wrong things and give chronically skewered weightings to matters of lesser importance whilst paying scant regard to what is truly important. This inability or unwillingness to prioritise what is important is what distorts your reality.

If your reality is that false narratives on DEI, biased legacy media, vote rigging and ballot harvesting, fighting proxy wars, climate change propaganda, permanent disfigurement of children against their parents wishes, weaponising of the justice system, biological men playing women's sports and/or using their bathrooms and blatant intolerance or even irrational hatred of Judeo-Christian faith (and the list goes on and on) is all acceptable, and even worse - encouraged, then it's probably fair to assume that I think serious discussion of these and other topics at length with this audience is a complete waste of time.

In summary, I believe that your focus is badly in need of recalibration.
Ah so only shit you care about is important. Self centered much?

So in other words, you've fully embraced debunked conspiracy theories and overblown culture war outrage designed to distract voters while their wealth and opportunity funnels upwards to the already rich and powerful elites.

Just own the fact that you like an authoritarian better and stop trying to hide behind largely made up talking points. It comes across a bit weak to be honest.

Meanwhile my focus is on the preservation of democratic principles surrounding elections, anti authoritarianism, law and order, healthcare, and freedom of speech. But yeah, whatever the talking heads in your bubble have sold to you, that's what the real issues are.

Come back to me when the Democrats or Harris:
  • Concocted fraudulent elector schemes to deceive or influence the VP and Congress to make them President, just because.
  • Pressured state officials to just give them the win.
  • Pressured the acting AG and his deputy to lie to the states and Congress in official letters alleging non existent election fraud.
  • Explored replacing those principled officials with Yes Men until it became clear that would result in mass resignations.
  • Conducted a fraudulent campaign in the media and courts, with their associates, inflaming public tensions without basis.
  • Sent protestors to the capitol to unnecessarily pressure against the certification of legitimate results, where a gallows had already been set up, a clear signal that things could turn violent.
  • Spent hours fobbing off calls to calm rioters and insurrectionists, instead using the time to mock those fearing for their lives and continue to pressure them to abandon their legal duties. Completely disregarding the safety of the legislators, staff, law enforcement and their own supporters.
  • All in an effort to ignore the will of the voters, a most fundamental freedom of speech.

Can I have a try at answering why someone might be in fairly general terms (while not being one)

I would say white lower income USA males who have seen their country change (read increased diversity) and if feels unfamiliar and scary. Then you have this demagogue stating he will be keeping the immigrants out, “put women back in their place” and that resonates. Or they feel powerless and want to lash out by having trump in power who will hurt other groups that aren’t them

The share of the national wealth for the entire lower middle class and working class in the US has declined, they are all worse off. While at the same time diversity efforts have insured that the greatest share of that loss has been been suffered by poor young white males. Are the sins of the past their fault? No.

While the rich have become richer by stealing from the poor and reallocating a fraction of the stolen wealth in diversity efforts. All to promote conflict among their serfs to divide and rule.

They won’t be coming back to you.

For you Russian bots , this guy was a wrestler Kane and is GOP

Didn't stop the deplorables from jumping on as well. Musk and his twitter mob, the MAGA cultists. I was wondering how long it would take before they try and use the disaster to push their BS conspiracies, political point scoring, and making up stories that are simply not true, to try and back up all their claims. They finally went lower than I thought.

It's funny how no one mentioned a thing about North Carolina the last few days, until the bots post something recently. Next second its trending hard on X and everyone jumps on and posting about the same stuff. Bunch of sheep. Happens every single time.

I was wondering which of the polling groups got close to getting the election call correct last time, if any.
Basically despite making adjustments for their modelling errors over the past few elections, it's a pretty unimpressive collection.
Anyway for what it's worth, here is a list of polling groups showing which group got the closest to a correct prediction last time.

Conservative media playbook, page 1, technique 1.

And how many of those conservative GOP campaigners are highlighting the death of those workers in NC? The ones who were forced to work during the storm. Not many I bet.

Again, the comparison between the tribes' political arms' actions during and after disasters is stark.
