Bo has the potential to be another Luke Hodge, just get himWould you be content with Fremantle making that trade if it were the other way around? A six place slide for a future first?
I think our board will be upset if we pay that much to move up to pick a player that doesn't really fit an immediate need - then if/when Bo turns into a gun midfielder/half back we will look at it as massive value.
No current season stats available
It will be interesting to see how it plays out. The thing is that trading up/down will be driven by needs rather than rating imo. You have North looking to trade down because midfielders just aren't a massive priority. If our priority really was a beast of a HBF-er then I think we'd pay up for the right pick.Only thing I'm saying is its cheaper to trade up the draft this year because of the relative eveness
Will Hayes interviewed tonight said he had meetings with 15 clubs at the draft camp.
I think the "tax" is removed if it's done on opening and not waiting for the actual pick, then it's more like it was agreed before hand and just needed to wait for draft night to begin. I'm not really a fan of it regardless anyway. Seems we are a lock to get whoever is left out of the top end sub 190cm players and that works for me.Yeah I gathered that’s what you meant in your reply to my original post and whilst agree it has been , it’ll be a different beast in this draft on the night due to basically clubs having to play their hand when it comes to trading up for the player they want
And as also ( and ironically) ,due to being so “even”meaning as clubs start to pick after (I’m guess p6 onwards) clubs will really have a better idea of who’s on the board etc so I really can see a flurry of clubs looking to start wheeling and dealing and not just the likes of Sydney and gws etc looking to move up but teams like ess/haw(even WC) who have stated they’ll be keen to get into this part of the draft.
Simple supply and demand metrics i can see some clubs ending up paying pretty big on draft night , especially in that 10-30 bracket
For perspective, We can only take 3 “Live” picks at the draft.Cal mentioned on Gettable Wednesday that we are trying to bundle 14 + 30 to move up. So is St Kilda happy to slide back 6 spots to add pick 30? Potentially if they want a player that will be there later. Also the option of future pick swaps to add in
I think F1 is untouchable for us considering players like Chad and Kozzy could be gettable.
Twomey prob heard we have been asking the question. Doesn’t mean St Kilda are actually interested. As you say it might take a good future pick swap scenario. For perspective, We can only take 3 “Live” picks at the draft.
So 7,14,30,32,47 doesn’t really work for us.
It was an interesting tidbit in the age. But it’s hard to see how this gets done.
Whereas 8+32 for 15+16+ late pick for academy points would work from the Giants.
Id actually be all good with that. But doubt Berry slides that far backTwomey prob heard we have been asking the question. Doesn’t mean St Kilda are actually interested. As you say it might take a good future pick swap scenario.
I wonder whether package is entertained with Sydney:
19,22 > 14,30
Please explain TaylorIt will have to be an additional player in the SSP, but it will mean we can draft an extra player knowing we will have the spare spot later. If that makes sense
I think what we can do here (assuming jones is ruled out for all of next season, or at least on a “long term” basis) is place him on a LTI list, then use that spot to select Quinton Narkle. Please explain Taylor
That last pick in ND might be lined up for a specific mature age type like Jaren Carr for example. Knowing we have a spot available in the Rookie draft we instead target another young player with our third pick. We may even for example try and upgrade that third pick to select a young slider in the draft who we rated much higher than 50 for example. Murphy last year was rated much higher and not necessarily an area of need we just picked him anyway at 40.Please explain Taylor
