Will be interesting to see if we stay in Adelaide for a week to play either Port or Adelaide like last year.

Heading out Friday, 1 game Sunday, and then a follow up game Friday or Saturday and then back.
I think we requested that last year and it didn’t pan out as we lost three games in a row. Not sure we put the request in again.

The two games in Adelaide were fine. We just lost both and should have beaten Carlton. The game after the trip was shocking.

Not sure it is good to get the Derby after two weeks away.

Two weeks after Gather Round is the Len Hall game so we'll either have a second game in SA or the derby the week after gather round.

We'll find out Thursday.

Well I couldn't care less about where and who we play in Gather Round, however the farce that is Opening Round has continued.

The idea of playing games in the northern states while the NRL are away in Vegas has merit especially after Brisbane won the flag but it's definitely unfair that those 8 teams get an extra bye.

Just everyone play in that round but those Northern States get a home game. Its only 4 games out of 9.

FMD it isn't hard.

Exactly - it fell on a long weekend last year, can still do each of those northern games as a standalone fixture Thursday through to Saturday night, then condense the other 4 games on Sunday and Monday.
Would give exactly the same exposure to the northern clubs and not completely bigger up the remaining fixture for everyone else.

This is an unbelievably good deal for North Melbourne. You would expect they would normally play an away game in Perth.

If they don't have to play another away game in Perth they effectively get $2.5m for playing one home game in Bunbury.

Strange they’d have the Bunbury game on a Sunday. If it’s a Saturday then a huge number of people would do a road trip, stay overnight, have beers at the game etc etc.
On a Sunday, given Monday is a work day, most will likely drive down for the game then drive home, no beers at the game, no spending in the local economy.
Makes zero sense and so easy to switch them around.
