Strange they’d have the Bunbury game on a Sunday. If it’s a Saturday then a huge number of people would do a road trip, stay overnight, have beers at the game etc etc.
On a Sunday, given Monday is a work day, most will likely drive down for the game then drive home, no beers at the game, no spending in the local economy.
Makes zero sense and so easy to switch them around.

It's also going to have bugger all seats. With no research I'm guessing 10K or less. Bunbury locals can fill it, they don't really need to encourage more Perth people to try and nab all the tickets.

NRL State of Origin on the Wednesday night at Optus on the 18th June

Then Fremantle v Essendon on the Thursday night.

Going to be a big 24 hours for the ground staff

rivalry and we get them at home and get them twice (especially given we are only getting North once). Getting Richmond and West Coast twice would be such a great result

Not a fan of the Thursday night games at Optus. It’s extremely hard to get to the ground as all the buses are being used getting people home from work. Really doubt the crowds will be big at all.

I am very much in favour of North hosting a game in Bunbury. But I don't know how they are going to get Hands Oval up to condition for it. Is there even enough space for enough temp seating?

This is an unbelievably good deal for North Melbourne. You would expect they would normally play an away game in Perth.

If they don't have to play another away game in Perth they effectively get $2.5m for playing one home game in Bunbury.

I agree. They played 2 games at Optus last year any way for $0 so to get $2.5m to play a game in Bunbury is a win for them.

I think the stadium will only hold 15,000 people so tickets will be in high demand. Everyone in the south west will want to attend along with Perth based WC and NM supporters.

NM might be doing clinics/public appearances down there Saturday.

I'll be surprised if they have 3 games in WA.

Bad news for the other 15 teams really, 5 of them will still have to play in WA twice and not make any money.

I'm guessing both SA teams will play Freo and WC at Optus next year.
