Don’t think having teams playing opening round then play a team that didn’t the following week makes much sense at all.

I’m really not sure if it benefits us or Geelong in this instance but it’s nothing short of pathetic by the AFL imo.

Last year we got Brisbane i R1 after then played in the opening round and it wasn't an issue for us so i will stick with those positive vibes.

If you are going to play top 4 teams from the previous year, you are better off getting them early.

I don't mind getting Geelong early.

We were the only team who won out of the 4 bad matchups who had a head start. We also got basically pants in the first quarter that my therapist refers to as “Ethaned”.

Geelong are old so it sometimes takes those teams a bit to get going but it’s also one of the worse grounds so it’ll be harder. Brutal start two years in a row for no reason.

Getting belted by the Cats in the drenching rain at Optus during a crowd limited match during COVID was close to the worst I have ever felt at a home game. (Hawks prelim only thing I can think of off hand. GF was different kind of bad)
