Hopefully we've worked off some of the dust and cobwebs over the first two rounds and we can bring some of that excellent pressure and slick ball movement from the win over Geelong. Should win if we're serious, though the lowly clubs from 2024 have already shown they can be competitive if their opposition gives them the opportunity. Hoping for a ruthless win based on system and effort... but will settle for a win.
- Henry had a run in the VFL and may be ready to come back in, but does Collard automatically make way for him? He showed a lot of energy in round 2, applying chasing and tackling pressure we haven't seen from him in his VFL stints. Plus got on the end of a couple which doesn't hurt. Said bobbed up for a couple of goals in the VFL as well but might not be quite ready for the AFL yet.
- Stocker will miss with concussion, so we need to make at least one change - plus another if Clark doesn't pull up. Caroll and Travaglia both put in strong showings in the VFL to make a claim for senior selection. Caroll maybe ahead based on being an established mature player, but the need to develop Travaglia, plus his ability to rebound from defence may see him get the nod. Boxshall was slightly quieter for Sandy, but has put together a great preseason and would also be a welcome debut.
- Cordy didn't play at any level this week, so the impressive Caminiti should rightfully retain his spot in defence. Schoenmaker put on a strong show for Sandringham, racking up 31 disposals, so he may be recalled as another intercepting/rebounding option. Alternatively, Hastie might also get another chance.
