Reckon Morris has the Saturday triple header at AO wrong.
Maybe the Carlton V West Coast game is the Friday evening game at Norwood.

I know my roster for the next 2 years, more actually, it runs on a 60 week cycle so on any given day I can tell you when I am working and what time I start. (unless I am booked off)

If true an improvement on the first two editions. There should never be an early Friday game if they aren't going to have a proper magic round. It's just plain insulting to the teams involved.
Only change I'd make to this is have Carlton v West Coast at Norwood instead.

In terms of a spectacle, I agree with you. However, the AFL are never going to pass up on delicious ticket sale revenue by scheduling two of the league's bigger fan bases at a tiny ground.
Will the Collingwood special exemption from playing Kardinia Park be extended again into 2025?

I just want to have a go at having a neutral game at Adelaide Oval, as reigning premiers I feel like we have earnt the right to as well.
But yes I realistically know our game against Bulldogs is more likely to get shunted to Norwood.
Not GR related but hope we play you lot at the MCG next year. Hasn't happened since 2000.
It just stuffs up so many things with the way the AFL do it and comprises the draw even further for bugger all. It's not going to grow the game, any traction they get disappears just as quick and it just pisses off all the fans in the other states.
If they have to have it, the simple solution is have round 1 play over two weeks. The 8 teams that play on the first weekend have a week off on the 2nd. Then you make sure they play another opponent who had the week off too so it is fair. Round 2 is as normal.

We were the only team who had a win against the opening round teams who had a head start. i think it was 4 games.
You smashed us in the first quarter while we got rid of the rust. You just started the year poorly after playing the GF the year before, we got lucky on where your team was at more than that fixture helping us. It just doesn't need to be compromised like that, what does it add?
The season was so tight, coughing up one game can be the difference to making the finals, having a home final or making top 4. It's just too important to make the comp more unfair for a bit of PR.

Ok even if we go with that just make all the opening round teams play each other in round 1.
Last year 3 of 4 opening round games were sell outs from memory. Need to do all we can to grow the game.
The grounds are all tiny though. They are the 4 smallest ground in the country that play more than 3 games a year. The opening game at the MCG would almost get more attendance than those 4 combined.
Why wouldn't they be sellouts if they were the first 4 games of the season & then the rest?
