2025 Draw - hoping for MUCH softer

If Nicks isnt 3-1 minimum after 4 rounds he should be sacked because that is about as good as you can hope for to start a season. You dont want totally soft kills but ylu dont want tough teams and we get a couple right after.

Otherwise we get a couple of patches where we barely travel and have some good games prior to end of season. Leading into bye could be tricky but that could be the making of us.

No excuses.

Melbourne definitely got the most favourable double up draw.

However they could easily implode as they could end up top 4.

The competition does seem quite even in that a good 16 teams could beat each other on any given day.

I would have preferred a GWS or even Brisbane as a double up over Hawthorn who have been a bogey side of ours for what seems like a decade.

But the draw itself is quite good for us, I'm extremely happy with 3 MCG games.

I feel our recent string of very close games against Collingwood Melbourne Carlton and Essendon in Melbourne probably helped us get MCG games against the big clubs.

The logo is better than 2010-2024, but not as good as 1999-2009.

23 games we need to earn next year.

It won't be easy. There will be obstacles in the way, a desperate opposition, pressure, expectation.

Let's say we are in 8 games decided by less than 10 points and can win 6 of them, we're a finals chance.

Need to defend the home ground better. We were terrible at home last season, played better on the road although fell short quite a few times. But pulled out a couple a crazy wins by less than a kick.

My prediction of the gather round game vs Geelong was correct. Really good choice. The Cats are going to be a real contender next year so a great challenge for us.

Our double up games have the potential to turn into a nightmare draw once it's reassessed after the 2025 season.

Port, Hawthorn, Gold Coast and Collingwood will all be either in the 8 or around the mark.

It could easily end up that we play 4 teams twice that will finish in the top 8.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind that. Either we will make some strides forward next year and should want to be facing better sides anyway, or else we won't make strides forward and may as well get smacked around for a better draft pick and more pressure on the administration.

Could say that about most teams draws. It’s pot luck at this stage.

It is to a degree, but there are sides that didn't make the 8 that have the potential for a far bigger upside in 2025 than others.

If you could swap a Collingwood double up for Essendon or St Kilda you'd take it any day of the week.

Draw is pretty damn good and early season momentum is crucial and the draw gives us some chance to get it

Time to beat collingwood so glad we play them twice

We have no excuses next season

Going to Perth twice is good as we want to play the eagles twice

Freo will be top 4 next year so that won’t be fun

Only playing Richmond twice would have improved our draw...
