getting negative about the draw a road to nowhere , one of better ones we’ve had so we’ve got no excusesCould say that about most teams draws. It’s pot luck at this stage.

We even get more games at the G than they do, haha. How does Port not get a Friday night game lol
Plus not playing at Ballarat. I'd argue that's logistically the worst road trip any team could cop right now in the AFL.Only playing Richmond twice would have improved our draw...
At least we’ve won there in last 15 years , unlike GeelongPlus not playing at Ballarat. I'd argue that's logistically the worst road trip any team could cop right now in the AFL.
The prospect of being stuck on a bus for hours to and from a game after/before an interstate flight is just flat out unacceptable. At least we’ve won there in last 15 years , unlike Geelong
2-4 should be a sacking of Nicks with that draw.Absolutely MUST win the St Kild and Norf home games to start.
Then ideally win at LEAST 1 of the Ess/GC away games (ideally both) - before we even start to get into the serious games against Geel in Gather round, GWS and Freo away (damn tough patch).
3-3 seems a realistic, meet expectations kind of start to season.
4-2 very positive can build on that.
2-4 or worse and pressure will be insane on Nicks.
It’s actually not that far to the airport , hour and a bit maybeThe prospect of being stuck on a bus for hours to and from a game after/before an interstate flight is just flat out unacceptable.
The AFL makes enough money in what is touted as a fully professional sport, and it really should never happen. One day, some AFL employee will wind up with DVT from one of these ridiculous trips and sue their asses off.
Pressure will be through the roof at 2-42-4 should be a sacking of Nicks with that draw.
What’s started? Expecting my team to beat North and West Coast? Coz that’s been in place for a while now.
The unfortunate thing about playing the 'weaker' teams early is that anything can happen. Crows beat Geelong round one not so long ago when Cats were a far superior team..for example. So many early games have been won by the team expected to lose. Hope we don't get sucked in thinking these games are easy. The soft start is much needed, we should be 3-0 rather than 1-2/0-3 the last couple of seasons.
FTFYI think the Ballarat council requests SA teams, we're just hankering for a 6 hour drive to that shithole ground apparently.
It's an hour and a half minimum to two hours... each way to and from the airport. With a flight before and after. It’s actually not that far to the airport , hour and a bit maybe
If we were a profession sport, the AFL would organise a chartered flight. It's an hour and a half minimum to two hours... each way to and from the airport. With a flight before and after.
This is a sport that grosses billions in TV rights. It's just not good enough!
It’s only a 1 hour flight though , so we fly in day before and get a bus there to train and stay night then drive back 1 hr 18 mins ( googled drive time ) to tullamarine next day for 1 hour flightIt's an hour and a half minimum to two hours... each way to and from the airport. With a flight before and after.

WC and Freo have 22 home games between them. 2 are against eachother. So 20 games against interstate teams.Well it happened to Brisbane, Melbourne, Richmond and Gold Coast this year to start with
Ballarat is an hour from the airport you donkey. It takes longer to reach the eastern suburbs of Melbourne than it does to reach Ballarat. The prospect of being stuck on a bus for hours to and from a game after/before an interstate flight is just flat out unacceptable.

Could you imagine for a moment as an AFL player from WA, flying from there to Melbourne 3 and a half hours, followed by a 1 and a half to a 2 hour bus trip to Ballarat....It's an hour and a half minimum to two hours... each way to and from the airport. With a flight before and after.

Yep it’s closer than Waverley in the old daysBallarat is an hour from the airport you donkey. It takes longer to reach the eastern suburbs of Melbourne than it does to reach Ballarat.
It’s not that bad …. 1 hour flight and 1 hr 18 min drive thru day beforeIf we were a profession sport, the AFL would organise a chartered flight.
What would happen for a professional US or European team? It’s not that bad …. 1 hour flight and 1 hr 18 min drive thru day before
