Trades 2025 Fantasy Round 3 Trades

Are we trading Day ahead of Garcia?
can wait to see if Garcia is named sub before making the move. But surely Day has a higher ceiling even with a tag?
Or best 18 go the good matchup in Tigers with Garcia?
The one that isn’t traded this week becomes Green/Neale next week
I'm contemplating a hold on Day for the potential juicy post bye run.
Garcia is on the expendable list straight out of the byes.
I've got plenty of fires to put out though.
Hollands & Meek this week.

Have owned him in a keeper for a few years and while he definitely has a fantasy game, I can't believe he's so popular in Classic. He's been the flavour of the week on all the pods I've listened to. Especially with Wardlaw to come back, Norths midfield is stacked, only so many points to go around.

Coming off a 30 point 2nd half last week (which was when North dominated)

Having said that he is underpriced still so I get the reasoning

I don’t think it’s going to impact him at all.

In fact I think you will find Powells numbers are about to go up.

He’s still behind both Parker and Sheezel CBA %’s.

Wardlaw will just take Phillips 36% CBA numbers and then I think they will play Sheezel more forward and Parker more forward to get GW up around Powells current 50%.

Powell will be 60%+ by the end of the year.

LDU 76% and Xerri 85% are the only two North mids over 60% CBA’s after Rnd 2. Parker is next at 59%.

Powell is winning more clearances than LDU at the moment despite 24% less CBA’s. He had 5 center clearances last week from 48% CBA, it’s going to go up…he’s far too efficient for his current opportunity.

Fair enough you'd know more than me about it

I do kind of try to hedge my bets (where I can) by avoiding guys I already have in draft in my classic team, so maybe that's influencing my thoughts a bit

I'd be wary on Warldaw for sure. As I said, he's only realistically an end of season option based on gaining match fitness and the TOG required.

Powell will absolutely average 100+.

I was vocal in other threads over preseason that Powell would outscore LDU in both fantasy and SC having seen him. Neutrals were giving me shit. Nothing has changed that view, in fact his start has almost enforced that view.

He was easily our best player in preseason and outside of Xerri has probably been our best across the first two games as well.

He has just transformed physically. He spent all summer doing speed training in his time off with specialists. He had some groin problems 18 months ago and looked like he was running in quick sand at times last year.

It's hard to explain how much quicker he is this year, he was pushing off Petracca and streaking out of the middle on the weekend. He's never played like that, he's always been one paced, but just a smart footballer and ball user. He was outrunning Ed Richards at points in Rnd 1. Unless you have watched North week in week out for the last 2-3 years and know the back story, it's hard to describe simply how much faster his leg speed is through the work he has put in. IT's going to open up the game to him around stoppage.

I said it on the North board during pre-season, but with his body shape and added speed, he's almost playing a bit like Chad Warner at the moment.

And you'd be hard pressed to remove him from the CBAs after how well he's started

If anything when Warlord returns he probably takes Parker's CBAs, and Wil Phil probably gets dropped

Exactly as I said.

Wardlaw has nothing to do with Powell.

He will take Phillips position in the 22 and Parker and Sheezel's CBA's will drop to compensate the increase from Phillips 38% CBA's.

Both are rotating with each other and McKercher/Simpkin through half forward already anyway.

We are playing +2 mids from starting half forwards (Simpkin & McKercher) in the same way Geelong do with Atkins and Miers pushing up. Hence Simpkins huge numbers. When either of those 2 go to the bench, is when Sheezel and Parker rotate out to half forward.

That's the current setup.

There's a possibility Powell is seen as North's #1 mid by season end imo.

Day would 100% be a hold if they weren't playing the Giants, Bedford is an elite tagger if not the best in the game.

Held Naicos well in OR, and restricted Trac for the majority of the Dees game before he was moved away for game reasons late.

I know Gunf used to have a real negative opinion of him, but he wasn't the only one. Just the one that comes to mind off the top of my head. Don't have any examples of the replies, but I do have one of him blocking people over nothing:

Others would have to bring their experiences to the table, but I know Gunf was extremely annoyed and for a very long time, over the way he was treated - over something incredibly innocuous.
I know this was a thing like 5 years ago or something, but i think it's time to move beyond the Warnie hate. Doesn't give any worse than he gets in my opinion.

If people could have one of these mids from next week who would you pick - Tom Green, Daicos, Brayshaw and Serong? The target influences my trade this week

If it's Tom Green I trade Day to him this week (other trade is Sinclair) then reassess Sam Taylor options next week.

If it's one of the other mids I get one of the 600k guys going up in price to hold D5 for a few weeks - Bowey, SDK, Freijah which allows enough $ for a 1mil mid next week
Daicos, Green is a never again for me.

And the issue is that he gets a fair amount of unwarranted crap on social media.

Because the Traders give off the vibe of just a couple of mates talking Fantasy and giving each other shit, a lot of people assume that by listening they are in on that as well. But there's a difference between your mates giving you shit, and then some random guy online doing it. I would imagine that most of the people that get blocked by the Traders on socials simply don't understand that.

Daicos, Green is a never again for me.

Green was a hard watch and own last year for sure.

I hate owning slow players that don't spread for marks. That was his problem last season

But he did 110 the year before. Maybe it was a one off. Who knows

He's a target for me this week should team sheets fall that way, but you realistically have to rely on him racking up touches

The speedy types like Powell, Richards, Naicos etc can rack up a lot more in a quicker time

Yep. Just a disgusting watch in some games when he has 30 touches in the 4th for a score of 80-90.

Any help welcomed

Benches Def : Reid/Trainor Mid : Campo/FOS/Bo Allan

Thinking Hall & Powell/Soligo/Richards $310k itb maybe Knevitt over Hall ~$100k
Or Hall & NWM $170k
Is it still forecast to rain in Brisbane?
