Fixture 2025 fixture

Noice.

My take.
MCG - Agree.
Docklands - Melbourne very close to a minnow there. They don't attend Docklands.
Thu / Fri - As expected. Not much except that Thursday. If we perform well some chance of getting some games in the tail end where it is up for the taking. (FWIW the floating fixture actually helps a team like us, broadcasters will bank on the bigger clubs if they have no choice from a year out - at least with this if we perform well and play entertaining games we might get more exposure that year).
Geelong - Surprised. We get them 9/10 years. Probably tough to squeeze us in given the huge travel burden already. Small win.
JHF - Yep, no surprise eithyer.
Tas / Hawks - Yep. Annoying and it will continue even after we're out of Tasmania I suspect most years.
Gather Round - Yep. Annoying.
FTA - Not much. Again, floating fixture arguably helps us a bit.

I really can't see how Hawthorn will be allowed to hold on to Launceston.

Its a real supporter friendly fixture.. that in itself should see a 5% increase in home game admissions.

One of the largest struggles for our club to turn out attendance is the time slot.. I would have turned up to 6 home games last year if I wasnt working. This current model will see people like myself attend more games.

Its a decent fan friendly draw

Maybe for Melbourne and 1 hour out fans

Pretty much sucks for anyone with a 3 hour drive home, especially the Saturday 7:30 start games

In actual fact it’s worse than ever. I can see maybe 3 games in what has been published so far that I will attend

Rd 2 Home

Maybe Good Friday depending upon circumstances- Home

Rd 10 Away

Rd 15 Away

Fan friendly for some

Time to down grade the Membership in 2026

So we get to play port in Adelaide, "wow" what a surprise, not at Marvel, I guess the majority of us knew we wouldn't be playing them in Melbourne for a while and I wonder why that is?

We play 14th 15th and 7th from last year in the first 4 weeks. Hardly a murderers row.

Yep. The competition is quite even at the moment, any of those lower tier teams could bag the higher ones on their day. It's us who need to jump back into the mix and play competitively against anybody. We should NOT be getting belted by the Crows.

In fairness, most fans who live 3 hours away wouldn't be going every second week anyway. It'd be a kick in the guts for you, but I doubt any thought at all is given to fans who live so far out when the fixture is designed, and to be honest, I think that's fair enough

The accomodation on Expedia was just about booked out as of last week; the remaining options being big city ones you are looking at $1500 plus for 3 nights
Another example of the AFL getting completely lost in its cleverness.

All this means is that your rusted on supporter, the backbone of the shooting match, is taken for granted and ultimately taken for a financial ride.

Great for the South Australian Government, the hotels and the airlines.

Gotta keep them happy I suppose.

That will be extremely expensive for the AFL. They might be able to strongarm us, Hawthorn have enough cash on hand to make the argument difficult.

Ummmm no so wrong

When we were Winning in the 90’s I drove 4 hours one way

Even 10 years ago I was there week in and week out

Admittedly losing is a disincentive to make the effort

Hopefully winning in the future will lead to a better draw

I did say 'most.' There won't be too many with that sort of dedication. Anyhoo, if I were you I'd get in the club's ear about a massive fuel voucher in recognition of your efforts

Again you are just wrong. There are lots of North fans up this way into Southern NSW. Always has. The Wallan Servo is testament after games the past 25 years

And when Wallan was just a toilet stop, Craigieburn or Kalkallo had heaps of northern Vic supporters.
