Just awaiting that Port get a bunch of the Sunday night shit show games. Nothing more exciting, then waiting the whole weekend to play St. Kilda, Melbourne, Bulldogs, GWS or GC last game of the round, in a half empty stadium. :drunk:
We have one Sunday night game ie 7.30pm EST start time, the gather Rd game v Hawks, and we might get one more playing the WA teams as they have 5 of the 9 allocated games.

Ch 7 said they only want them in the first 1/3rd of the season.

We will get at least 1 home 4.10 ie 4.40pm EST twilight game in the first 16 rounds and 1 or 2 away games in that 4.40pm EST timeslot.

If we are playing crap footy we will probably get 2 or 3 home games in that timeslot after they release the final 8 games timeslots mid season.

From Herald Sun.

"In a bumper start to Fox Footy’s ‘Super Saturday’ coverage in 2025, Houston and Daniel will face emotional encounters against their old sides in Melbourne on Saturday, March 13 to help launch Round 1."

Remember, the Herald Sun is 100% owned by News Corp, which owns 65% of Foxtel and Fox Footy, so everything will be Super Saturday in their articles for the next 7 years.

So that means no Port on Free TV for Rd 1 game as its a Saturday game and no Saturday Footy on 7 in SA for first 8 rounds.

Sports talkback should be fun in SA a few days before that game.

Looks like it’s Collingwood away in Round 1

This article adds that Richmond are playing the Crows at Adelaide Oval in round 2, which would imply Port are starting the season with two games on the road.

Could be a frosty home opener if they're 0-2.

that cant be right we are away in round 3 to Essendon on a thursday night.

no way we start with 3 road games

unless both us and the crows play home in round 2

The keep Ken away from the supporters tour. Maybe a whole year of away games

Also says that Essendon take on Adelaide in Rd 2 so you would assume it's a "we're Victorian all the non Vic teams are the same to us" typo and we are paying Richmond here.

Rd 1 v Collingwood Saturday Night at MCG
Rd 2 v Richmond Saturday sometime at AO
Rd 3 v Essendon Thursday Night at Marvel
Rd 4 ???
Rd 5 v Hawthorn Sunday Night at AO for Gather Round

I foresee an uninspiring but not bad enough to be coach killing 2-3 record by the end of Round 5. Surely the extension talk starts then

Are the Sunday night fixtures about stopping the overlapping Sunday games or is it purely the broadcasters looking at the American market and deciding that SNF should be a thing here as well?

Happy with no home Thursday games. Give us Saturday night.

Can we please stop getting booked to play Collingwood away? Make those ****ers travel ffs.
I agree, can’t recall the last season we didn’t play that mob away. They’ll probably make us play lolnorf in hobart for a 4th straight year, it’s all run by 🤡

This also means that neither Freo's Len Hall Game or Port's ANZAC game will be played at night on ANZAC Day...
Mathematically that can't account for every Friday in the first 16 though. Probably just means old mate only talked to contacts from those clubs because who cares about non Vic clubs, right?

Agree with the fact that Richmond is probably actually against Port Adelaide, not Adelaide.

That also means, round 3 is the first time a Port game will appear on free to air television.

so we have no firday night games, and 1 thursday game. and we finished top 4

Math doesn't add up.

This just seems to be the list of teams that host a Friday night game. We might still play them but yes unfortunately wont get to host one.

So no hosted Thursday, Friday or Sunday night games.

The positive there is that maybe we've gotten lucky and will get a lot of Saturday twilight games? Saturday nights at home haven't been a happy hunting time for us.
