Think he meant the horrendous depth of the Pies list and lack of best 22 midfield talents if Daicos goes down.

Pies have a WCE type cliff coming, could be 2025 that we see it comes to fruition with the age of their list.

Oldest team in AFL history by a long way.
Skewed by Pendles being 83. Thats why we brought in a 26 and 27 yo and drafted 3 kids. Geelong have been "too old" for 12 years. Rather be old than shit

Unfortunately in 2024 you were both.

In 2025 it will be interesting to see if the continued decline of your senior statesmen can be offset by the recruits you brought in... My prediction is the Pies finish from 10th - 6th but I can't see them doing much more than that with the lack of quality ball winners in the midfield.

Did all the blokes we had that rolled you guys twice and Brisbane twice have a joint 70th birthday last week or something? You guys have been in the age sweet spot for a couple years now. I wish we had that instead of a flag

Let’s assume this all comes true (of course we don’t wish injuries to any players)…

I still think it was worth it to win a premiership with this squad.

The seasons and wins we had in 2022 and 2023 more than satisfy me if we go **** up next year. Surprisingly im not as pessimistic as a Carlton supporter and am hopefully we can be in the mix with a healthier list and the 2023 hunger

Assuming they have a better run with injuries I can’t see a way Collingwood don’t finish top 2 after the home and away season.

Their October trading was absolutely outstanding and they’ll have the likes of De Goey, McStay and Brody Miocheck back in the side. Plus they have a coach that clubs like Melbourne, Port and Bulldogs could only dream of to get them to the next step.

Collingwood will finish top 2 next year.
Whether that wins them a flag, Im not willing to commit.

Pendles driving his mobility scooter up onto the dais to get his medal will be magical

Absolutely you roll the dice, could win another flag next year, but the fall could last a tad longer

Degoey still battling chronic osteitis pubis, wouldn't be banking on him returning to his former best. Shocking condition that can take years to fully recover from.

Only because you’re wishing it. He’s up and running and will be primed by the season. Probably more forward/mid balance so he’s primed if we make finals in the midfield.

I personally know members at the Pies, he's very much still battling it.

As someone who suffered with it for a few years I wouldn't wish it even upon a Pie.

Judd another who was never the same afterwards.

We might remove his groins. It’ll probably keep him out of mischief anyway. At worst he’s a deadly F50 option as 2018 showed

Hawks look like a trap ala Freo 2023 and Crows 2024. Honestly only would lock in Brisbane for Top 8 and 3 teams to miss it. Otherwise the other 14 teams have legitimate cases to finish in the Top 8.

Look, Hawks might miss the eight but the idea that it could happen because the Crows and Freo did is really shallow reasoning.

Crows had the 2023 they did on the back of their older heads(go have a look at their B&F results from that year), once Tex(and Laird) dropped off so did the side, and they added no one of value in the off-season leading into 2024.
Freo, like the Crows had queries over their coach and also lost quite a few players via trade heading into 2024.

Not really apples for apples when looking at Hawthorn.

I never know how to rate you campaigners. When we're shit we lose to you. When we win the flag and you're shit we lose to you. When were both shit we lose to you. We seem to have a reverse Kennett curse since the 2011 prelim

Hawthorn have been our Achilles heel my entire lifetime.

I still think we wouldn't have won in 1990 if we had to get past Hawthorn in a final, after they flogged us at VFL Park by about 15 goals a couple of weeks before the finals...
