Yes. At this point.
I agree with the AFL media on Darcy.
He has the potential to be anything.

But having said that, if we were able to pry Harry McKay out of Carlton I would say no.

Agree with a no to Harry McKay
Likewise. Though I think the worst thing to happen to McKay was winning the Coleman.

Rightly or wrongly that enhanced his profile and he started being spoken about as an A grade forward. Carlton remunerated him in accordance with that, which then increased the scrutiny on his performance.

I’d take him as a second forward, paid as much. That would never happen given the salary he is now on, and guaranteed, for years to come.

In someways he would be perfect for what we need, big tall body that's a point of difference to Hipwood and Morris. And honestly think Carlton would be better to trade him out to fill the other massive gaps in their team. But at the price he would take? No way

McKay would be good up to a certain cost. But I'd say where that point is and the cost he would likely command are worlds apart. You'd really need to get him on a Collingwood-like fire sale in response to a list management stuff up.

I think his aura extended to his brother or Essendon got confused

I'm not expecting for one moment that he will, but Joe seriously should change his mind and come back.
Just have a gap (half a) year to freshen up.
I think he would enjoy even more playing footy now. And could even be better with less pressure and expectation.
Just go out and have fun doing Joe stuff and entertaining us.

We no chance of premiership this year without Joe. It just rebounds out of our forward 50 without him either marking it or bringing it to ground to advantage.

You haven't seen us add Gallop yet to that forward line. I believe he'll get his chance by second half of season and bring a whole new level of pressure against key defenders.

You don't need tall forwards to win the GF Richmond 2017 Collingwood 2023 Bulldogs 2016 are just a few in recent years to go all the way

Hipwood is a liability as the number one forward. Sam day is worse but plays his role but I don’t expect him to be around much longer. Morris undersized and too young. We are playing worse than last year I reckon but we’ve got the wins on the board which is everything at this stage.

Playing worse for a 3-0 start than we were in an 0-3 start, I think I’ll take that.
Mentally tougher, will also take that!

You only need to score more than the opposition. Whether they are tall or not is not the criteria. However a big unit that crashes packs and hurts defenders whilst kicking a bag is on top of the list. Gallop could be that in a few years (one thing to do it once another all season at that age). If Day is a bust then let's hope Smith is ready otherwise Hippy might have to learn second ruck quickly.

Should add, personally don't see Fort as forward but rather a full time Ruck.

Day is offering little in the way of forward craft or mobility. In fairness, I thought he competed okay in the ruck, albeit against two ruckmen that aren’t traditional types.

I’d give him to Gather Round, and if the wheel hasn’t turned, play Smith and for an extended period. I have come round to respecting Fagan’s loyalty in players, but Day seems to me to be lacking the physical attributes to actually compete at the level.

The next step in Smith’s development is exposure to senior level which isn’t happening whilst Day is in the side.

Is Henry Smith meant to be quicker or more agile?
