2025 New Coach and GM Reports

Raiders job is the pick of the bunch for mind and if you are Davis you don't have to look too far for the blueprint to being good again.

49ers were without a GM, HC or QB, high draft pick and a truckload of cap space when the ShanaLynch era began. Follow that route and I think Johnson is the first piece.

Smart by the Raiders , you've got idiots like the Bears and Jags retaining useless GM's, this gives them an edge for coaches who want their own GM.

Its feel like Mark forgot to fire Tom when he got rid of Antonio and only just remembered days later.

Probably took a day for accounting to work out the severance package.

Telesco is a good GM though, he has demonstrated success with the Chargers. Canning him is a real loss and I expect him to get one of the vacant GM positions elsewhere. If the Raiders' concern was having the coach and GM on the same page, that's why you get the GMs thoughts on which coach they're the best fit with.

You say hes a good GM but what did he win with the Chargers? I agree that he has some real positives with his drafting just making the point how getting the coach right is just as if not more important. He hired Brandon Staley. Cant just grade a GM on the draft picks he made.

Fair point, I guess he shouldn't be trusted to hire a coach. But drafting is hard to get right. I saw so many analysts say Herbert would be a massive bust, yet Telesco drafted him anyway and it's fair to say that's worked out very well.

Yeah, ive always been a fan his drafting, could easily rank him in the top half of GMs in the league. To further ram home my point, the Chargers stripped back talent on their roster this year coz they were up against the cap yet are an infinitely better team with the appointment of Jim Harbaugh and first time GM Joe Horitz. Telesco for as good of a drafter as he is is a replaceable GM at the end of the day.

If Miami would have done that smart thing and taken Herbert over Tua and chargers got stuck taking Tua he would be thought of in a whole different light.

Who the f*** would want to work with Davis and Brady?
You can say the same for the McCaskeys and Poles
You can say that about Kahn and Baalke
You can say that about Handjob Bob and son

If you get a license to build a team your way in your time it's going to be tempting to some. Like Brasher said about Kyle Shanahan choosing the Niners when he did, Jed York was considered a head case and they had nothing at QB.

Flores desperately wanted Herbert and the GM went against him. Think it was part of the reason he hated Tua, if not the main reason.

Flores wasn't just a prick to Tua, though. He was an arseh*le towards the entire Dolphins roster.

Just ask prospective coaches. They’ve been having to get the scraps of prospects for a long time. Art Shell 2, Kiffin, Cable, Hue, Allen. Took a huge life changing contract to get Gruden and then back to McDaniels and Pierce. Zero chance they get Johnson or Vrabel.

Whats so strange is he had a pretty good record considering the lack of talent on the Phins, especially compared to other teams who also hated their coach. He was feared enough perhaps, unlike other coaches who nobody respected and thought were pushovers.
