If Cooper Hodge ends up at Brisbane through their academy, I suspect that will be the death knell for the northern academies in their current form. The jungle drums are already beating (rightly so) and this would provide pretext for 14 other teams to push very hard for the abolition of these ridiculous concessions.

It will be similar to when Tippett and Franklin signed at the $wans in successive years, which caused the AFL to readjust COLA and implement a water down allowance of 'rental assistance'.

From a Brisbane perspective, the better play long term would be to let Cooper Hodge play for Hawthorn.

Hawthorn just need to demonstrate that there is a brighter future and better environment than Brisbane.
Because I guess it will be Coopers decision.
It will be hard, as he will have much more exposure to the Brisbane way of operating than Hawks.

Hope that Luke encourages him to go the right way.

But the respective performances between the teams in 2025 & 2026 will be critical to securing him.

Of course the AFL will have made sure that if he chooses us we will have to pay full price (Not picks 35, 45 and 56)

Exciting preseason so far, most optimistic i have been for a few years, well longer really but hey glass half full this year. Selection is going to be tough, keen as to see who gets a run at Geelodge. Is it being televised on Kayo on the Monday at 5.20??? not mentioned on AFL site, love to know from anyone.

Last cooper message from me , but I think he will totally join us, unless we are a complete basket case on / off field at time of choosing.

No matter how good his connections to Brisbane players and the city, noone would be able to go past joining the club where his father was a legend.

I’m no handwriting expert but it appears to say Mt Hagen to me.

I don’t know what our PNG support base is like but if we’ve got a player who identifies as their third largest city then it’s a brilliant move from a marketing perspective.

Could it have been David Hale's signature? There's no number associated with the signature and Storm was off the track near the end. Morrison is already located on the left hand side of the guernsey.

Don't think it was a member of the coaching staff, don't believe it's Hale or Morrison
