What was he consensus from last season, as to how many early bye players could we carry ?
Good question.

After dealing with a few last year im hesitant to start any next year.

Daicos/Flanders would be my only exceptions but still gonna pass atm

Not sure on the consensus but IMO as few as possible premo's. Best 18 seemed to neutralise MPM teams, you need those guns on field. A few good rookie scores will then fill the gaps.

BBL Final is 27th January...
Correct ....I'm suggesting the powers want to maximise participation, given it starts Dec 15th ....opening AFL SC would run interference IMO

Big Bash League would return for a fourteenth season in 2024, being held from 15 December 2024, with the final scheduled to be held on 27 January 2025

Agree.......so maybe they'll give it a week and then either Fri 20th or Mon 23rd just in time for Xmas...

Last year they opened BBL a week earlier on the 7th...

It seems to be centred around the conclusion of the BBL SC season .....they don't want to water down interest in BBL
FMD people are interested in BBL?

So just so I get this through my thick head

We mostly want players who aren’t playing round zero, right?

That way they will only have one bye week need to deal with for them and not til later in the season?

So, pick mostly players from:

Crows,
Blues,
North,
Port,
Dogs,
Saints,
Dockers,
Tigers,
Melbs,
and the Eagles?

Correct. Although I'll probably go with 2 premos playing OR, at this stage.............a lot can change between now and then

Yep unless the value is just too good to pass up.

This is a good read I reckon, but I kinda wish you didn’t tell everyone

I’ve been all about MPM the whole time I’ve been playing the game, but no more – only absolute must have midpricers for me from here on out

Here’s my take

How well you do for the season is less about nailing the players you start with

And much more about which of the popular picks you decide to “take on” and “let run against you”

If you’re going to get ahead of the pack you’ve got to leave out a couple of players everyone wants to be on . . .

So, who are going to be your “negative PODs”?

I presume Sheez will be the most popular defender – not sure I really want that guy running against me

Will Bont be most picked Mid? Again don’t want to pick against Bont. Clarry might not be popular enough to be worth betting against (don’t think I’ll take him either way)

Will Gawn be highly picked – happy to take him on I think

JHF? I’ve got him pencilled in, but have to take on someone . . .

Daicos for me. Will be very popular but has the early bye. Happy to upgrade to him later.
