It may be bias but I feel like he's provided a spark every time he's been given a chance in there.

It’s probably because his desire to win the ball is on the top echelon in the comp. He doesn’t care about size and throws himself into contest after contest, at times winning the ball simply because he’s wanted it more

One of his more interesting traits is how difficult he is to tackle. He's very strong and has deceptively good agility, he can very effectively avoid or shrug off tackles while getting a handball off. It's a good midfield trait.

Putting on size doesn't correlate to improved footballing ability. Almost every player on every team is currently, "looking fitter or more jacked" at the moment.

I am all for giving West more midfield minutes. But still not fully sold given that he tends to play a hot quarter, and goes quiet for three. No faulting his effort and physicality though. Plays harder than most on our list. Would like to see him improve his consistency this season and impact games for longer periods.

Marra today no appearance your worship, I didn't realise how quick croft is and in match sim Frejah and Richards stared.
Has Marrra appeared at all this pre season?

Sounds like he has missed more than he’s attended

I’m sure he could if he was needed. He’s a genuine utility.
He was statistically in the top 5 wingmen of 2024 (Champion Data) so I'm than happy to leave him there

The game is heading this way. You need players with good 2k time trails yet even more important is 10k. This is the stamina clubs are looking for. Its happening all over the country at junior levels. The best kids are now athletes, involved in run clubs, cross countries etc.
Eh. I actually kind of disagree. A 10K run is not really transferrable to a game of football. Players will also rarely train in a way that reflects this level of endurance. Hence why clubs prefer the yo-yo test as a mechanism, because it involves short bursts and very short recovery times, reflecting the running style you'll see in a game of footy. Training is much closer to a hybrid of anaerobic/aerobic that tests both energy systems, such as repeat 400m sprints.

Yes the best kids are athletes, but that's true with almost every modern sport.

I don’t think Wests game translates to a full time mid. He’s a burst player with elite game sense. His body will be destroyed if he plays full time mid unless he makes significant changes to the way he plays.
