Watched a couple of PSA school footy matches in WA and they’re where a few standouts but one player really stood out, From Wesley College, Reeve Sheldon a 189cm Patrick Cripps type player who wins a lot of contested ball and can also impact the scoreboard. His gut running is elite, I watched him play a couple of bottom age futures games for Swan Districts during term 1 and he is a ready made player will be one to watch in the next couple of years.

Ready made player at 14/15? Let's hope he has more development in him, comparing 14/15 year olds is fraught with danger as they are all at such different levels at this age

Just a request.

When this group elevates to U16's next year, surely the games have commentary and a boundary rider alongside it.
It seems fairly obvious but some number cruncher at AFL house has decided that this is not important and money could be better spent elsewhere although the AFL isn't short of a dollar or two. Doesn't make sense to me.

Could it be a case of plenty of dollars but no sense?

because the hit rate from these development programs isn't as high as you might think

there will be 30+ kids not at this carnival drafted in 2026 who were born in 2008 at a guess.

No, if one is to provide a service and they have pride in the service they are providing, then make it the best possible service they can provide within their financial and technical means. The better the service the more customers

Yeah, they'll enjoy that.
Pies have Ted Fraser playing in the U15. He's a tall boy at his age. I think close to as tall as his father atm, so no wonder he's playing ruck.

I think one of the F/S names that will get plenty of media attention in this age group is Sacha Demetriou (North F/S)

Was Captain of that YJFL Interleague team and son of former AFL CEO Andrew.

Plus a pair of Port Adelaide names in Tevita Rodan and Louis Salopek.

Futbolista.

Now that the U16's champs are done, we might as well have a start on WA rankings.

Abbonizio and Walsh to be flip flopping for a while up 'til the conclusion of next year's U16's games.

Sacha is very young and has a lot of development left. He has good skills and finds the ball

Louie is a gun and dominated the recent Interleague carnival for the Eastern Football League. Played mainly half forward and was always a dangerous scoring threat

A fun little attempt at a very early rankings.

Anyone know what Eli Kravic is like? His stats suggests he is some kind of forward. Small, or tall?
Eli is a medium/tall forward plays for Kew in the YJFL. Left footer, nice skills and hard at it. Played in YJFL rep and selected for VIC in the U15 carnival. He’s far from a finished product, but shows potential 👍

From the AFL website.

FIRST DEVILS ON SHOW

THE FIRST view of the initial draft pool Tasmania will get access to has seen recruiters watching the under-15s schoolboys competition over the past week, with a number of father-son talents already on the radar.

The under-15s prospects played in Queensland and are the draft class eligible to be picked at the 2027 draft which is expected to see Tasmania hold a grip on the top end of the draft, ahead of its anticipated entrance into the AFL in 2028.
Clubs are still waiting for full clarity on the Tasmania list build rules that will come into effect, but there is certainty that if the club enters in 2028 then the 2027 draft class will be strongly divided by picks to be used by the Devils and others that will come with caveats they need to be traded for readymade players.

The AFL is yet to confirm whether Tasmania will have access to a 17-year-old 'mini draft' like Greater Western Sydney in its inception, which would take some players out of the pool or their pre-list access, which both the Giants and Gold Coast had that allowed them to sign players before they hit their draft age. Whether that could include any access to a select group of players from the under-16s carnival this year is also to be worked through.

A standout talent at the under-15s was Western Australian Axel Walsh, a 200cm East Perth teenager.
Louis Salopek, the son of former Port Adelaide midfielder Steven, impressed scouts and is eligible to join the Power under the father-son rule, as are Koby Bewick (son of Essendon's Darren) and Nate Mensch (son of Geelong's David) to their dads' respective clubs in 2027.

David Rodan's son Tevita also impressed, with Port Adelaide the only club of Rodan senior's three AFL homes where he played more than 100 games to qualify for father-son access. Tasmania's Jake Beams, the son of former Demon Ben Beams, caught the eye for his state during the under-15s.

The under-15s title will be decided on Saturday between Victoria and Western Australia. – Callum Twomey

Thanks for the insight. One to watch, as I just discovered he is in the pies NGA.
