Saw that the AA panel is made up of KB, Richo, LUKE F'ING DARCY, Glen Jackovich, Danny Frawley (plus others who I'm less upset about)..

chaired by Gillon McLachlan, a guy that has probably never played a game in his life.

Just demonstrates why smart football followers don't consider All-Australian worthy of talking about.

Anyone that needs these morons to tell them who had good seasons needs to be slapped.

Ahh now I understand the Ellis selection.

Gil is a non voting chairman.

They need to rotate the selectors every 3 years I think. How is KB still on the panel? He probably wonders why players don't drop kick it!

There's an "article" (and believe me I use that phrase loosely) on the herald sun site trying to draw parallels between dyson and dustin martin. jeez i dunno maybe i'm a blinkered idiot but i know who i'd choose every day of the week (and twice on match day), and i also think i can predict with reasonable accuracy the respective trajectories of the remainder of their careers - both on and off the field.

Martin needs to get rid of that shit haircut.

Didn't he almost make Carlton's list?

So, 'how good was Tony Buhagiar?', I hear you ask. Well, in his first 4 seasons (only 4 in fact), he played 83 games; the same number as Dyson Heppell. In those 83 games he had 1973 disposals; 3 less than Dois. But, here's the clincher, he kicked 115 more goals in that time (135-20). What a superstar! Seriously not revered enough on this board is the 'Budgie'. Much loved was he back in the day but it seems the modern follower would prefer to consign him to the column of 'historical trivia novelty' for now and forever simply because he was cruelly denied a premiership medal in 84.

Lest we forget...

That Heppell has only kicked 20 goals in his career surprises me.

I know he played off half back in 2011 and for some of 2012 as well, but he seems to pop up not that infrequently with a goal these days. If he gets the ball on his left side, in a position to snap and within range, I usually feel pretty good about his chances.

The public should vote on the selectors to give AA some credibility.
I'm not opposed to AA being 'voted' on by the public.. maybe like the All Star games in US.

I understand the bias towards the 'bigger' clubs.. but then again.. most people can vote subjectively on such things.. and recognise great players.

Or perhaps it could be a combo of public votes and delegates..

Pity that Gil played over 200 games for Uni Blues - Think he was captain and played in a premiership. he has footy pedigree.

And then you would have the farce of 2008 when no Collingwood player voted Franklin as the players MVP.

You've just changed the AA selection into the US electoral college. Now all we need is players making big speeches and spending millions on advertising and we can turn AA selection into a season long event.

And he was on Carlton's supplementary list.

SAY NO MORE. Even without kicking the ball in anger with the mammogram on your torso the kentism permeates the soul.

7 premierships among them. Take out 3 of them and you're down to 7 premierships among them.

I think the best way would be for the fans who are club or AFL members to vote for the experts to select the side. Maybe 5 members of the AA panel. For example I'd vote for:

Cameron Ling
Gerard Whateley
Stan Alves
Mark Ricciuto
Ben Dixon
