Hey Nutjob....I never made any inference u didn't have a brain.
By negative posting I was referring to getting urself involved in the Goldstein trade bullshit that some idiot started, and the positioning of the club.
Having Harvey, Firrito, Dal Santo and Petrie leave mean we r done and dusted?
We have so much raw talent that is going to get a run now.
I wouldn't be surprised if we go slightly better than this year...like finishing 7th.
If you think I am behaving like a 14yr old school girl, u have alot of growing up to do my man.

Ok so the club said we are resetting and going to the draft. But according to you we may go better than this year. Sorry but I might go with the club on this one.
Yes we do have raw talent I agree with you. The thing with raw talent is that they need time to develop and get experience.
Again my original post was in no way negative or positive. I was evaluating the scenario of if Goldstein went or stayed. I even stated myself I was undecided on him staying or going. How on earth is sitting on the fence being negative?
Enjoy the school holidays

Is Goldy contracted or not???? All this trade talk is freaking me out!!!!!!! WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE GOLDY!

On Nov 19 2015, Goldilocks signed a three year deal thus excluding him from free trade crap and innuendo.
In Sep 2015, someone started a ridiculous trade arrangement, and everyone is getting drawn into it.
BS announced on Talking Footy(19 Sep), that Goldy is a required player, invested alot in him, he is happy and r all happy and need him.
As BS put it, "Tall players take longer to develop".

Dear Nutjob, My point was that the speculation surrounding Goldstein is all rumour, and lets not jump on the bandwagon analysing silly thoughts made by a half twit and start quibbling too and fro because we r all better than that.
Our young raw talent will be inconsistent, they will develop like fine cheese over time, and will only get better with game time. But the nalogy is, if we got this far with an injury riddled team playing players out of their chosen positions, and with five posi's that were week in week and week out filled with our departed vets, don't you think these kids will grab their chance as did Clarke, Daw and Wood?

I agree our kids will be inconsistent and will develop over time. That's why we won't be playing finals until that happens.

I would jump at trading Goldy, if we could get a high first and a high second pick.

And if Wells leaves as expected, and we got an end of second round for him, then we go into this year's draft with a top 5 pick, pick 11, a high second pick, pick 29 and pick 30 (Wells). Thats 5 picks in the top 30. There is your mini rebuild....

Done.

Lets be honest, Goldy is replaceable....

We have Daw signed for 3 years. We have Preuss, who is improving every year and on the main list and signed up. If we can add a Will Minson, if that doesnt cost us much, then we have options.

(We need to draft another project ruckman with a lower pick....65?...or the pick we get for trading Black or Mackenzie)

I love Goldy as a player, but I am just thinking what is best for the club going forward.

I would also consider trading Atley for a pick in the 20's. To give us 6 live picks in the top 30.

Man a pick in the twentys for Ately would be absolute Hollywood

One things for sure, if you dont go to the draft and take your chances, you are not going to improve.

If we trade Goldy for a high first rounder and second rounder, there is more of a chance that in 3 years time, we are a better team because these high draft picks have played 50 games and are coming into their prime.

The alternative is keep Goldy and in 3 years time he will be coming to the end of his career and we will still be whinging we are not top 4, because we dont have access to the elite talent/high draft picks.

But you are right, the players we get for trading Goldy could turn out to be duds.

But thats the chance you have to take....Look at the Bulldogs with Bont and Stringer.

And remember, we did pretty good in last year's draft...

Trade Goldy, pickup Minson.

Makes perfect sense.

How about we trade in a Ferrari for a Datsun 180B aswell.
Except we would get something for Goldy.

A better analogy would be trading in your Ferrari for a shit load of money and then going out and buying the Datsun to get you from A to B while you spend that ridiculous amount of money on a brand new boat and a down payment on a new house.

Good luck towing the boat with a 180B lol

Haha I don't know what that means. I know literally nothing about motor vehicles; I couldn't even tell you what a Datsun looks like.

I was just making the point that in the analogy that DR used it implies we get nothing for Goldy.
