Using soccer parlance 'technically he is very good'.

However, watching him closely, I really do believe he has the capabilities to play off a HBF or wing, setting up behind the ball.

Theoretically yes, but the kid has such goal sense, and such a LOVE for kicking goals, that it would be a criminal waste

Without a doubt DOP.

I don't mean I would have him actively pursuing a role behind the ball, but if he was ever needed in such a role, I believe he has the versatility to do the job.

However, you're right, he will play many years up forward and hit the scoreboard often.

It is Round 23 this week.

I think KHarps is set for a big one.

Week after week Kieran keeps stoking my man crush. His skills are silk, and he's genuinely enjoyable to watch when his confidence is up.

For those interested.

I received some 2nd hand information from a bloke I work with who is also a North supporter and went to school with Kieran.

He spoke to Harps recently after his Utah trip and said that he felt a lot fitter and more capable with his running (which is to be expected), but it's good progress to report.

As I stated in a lot of the player reviews I did, he gassed himself a lot this year, and he will benefit more than most with an increased fitness base and tank.

Sounds as though he is traveling well. I'll head down to see him train on Monday hopefully.

nice comparison, tensing in the 2nd though. *ducks for cover*

Will set the league on fire. He adds flare and unpredictability to our list.

I think Boomer said he was right up there in the 2k trial the other day. Bodes well, very well for 2012.

Harper needs his own 2011 highlight package I think.

haha, god damn it's so easy to get too excited at this time of year!!1!

Kid will be special

There were 2 pieces of play in the 2011 season that highlighted to me him having a bright future.

There is a 1 handed gather in the goal square and goal (has ability and backs it).

There was the knock back in to Petrie(?) during the St kilda nightmare which resulted in a shot straight in front and goal for Pedo(has smarts).

Harper and Bastinac add something different to our midfield.

They are the shine on the meat grinder.

* yes OE really easy to get excited this time of year.

was that the knock on when he bolted out from the centre square, tustled with an opp player, then desperately lunged and knocked it on, or won possession? He ended up on the wing.

I have vague recolection of this happening. It was absolutely awesome from the kid. Was it the St. Kilda game?

If he can spend more time in the middle, our midfield is complete.

Goldstein
Wells
Ziebell
Swallow
Bastinac
Greenwood
Cunnington
Adams
Harper
Speight

Holy shit that looks good.
And you forgot Atley;)

OE not 100% clear on the preceeding events (I rarely watch replays where we lose)

It was the second St Kilda game, we were kicking to the St Kilda cheer squad end.

The ball is racing to the boundry, Harper lunges (its like everyone else is conceeding its OOB) and belts the ball forward, ball stays in we gain (Petrie?) possession. The ball is kicked from the boundry to Pedo 35-45 out. Pedo kicks the goal.

I think it is possibly in the third quarter.

Gee that does like great just need all of them to fire in 2012 and watch out.We will scare the living crap out of alot of sides. The good thing is you have 1 or 2 that are abit quiet then the others can stand up.

Yep that sounds like it. He had to fight like buggery to get good positioning on the why out to the boundary. I remember watching it and being very surprised by 1) his strength and ability, 2) his footy smarts.

It could've easily been rushed over the boundary be a lesser effort.

That list of mids looks pretty well assembled if you ask me. Just hand the flag over now and be done with it. /:D

Other's to rotate are the Mc boys, Jamie and Brad.

with the list above (and Atters) I reckon LA's days may very well be numbered.
...unless he does make this move down back that we've been speculating about.
...and he makes it work.
