Hopefully it's announced at the B&F tonight.

Having listened to The Other Chief, Walshy, I'm no longer expecting that to happen. I'll remain hopeful of course.

Terry Tan and Barrett have surmised from Walsh that Levi may indeed be leaving.

We will look like right royal idiots if we lose him while signing up Higgins. Would our biggest player management blunder of recent times
Hang on last year we were high fiving each other that we landed top and I repeat top quality people that work in the background .....IE Walsh, Tudor Rowdy. Walsh is here to rate the playing group and Levi is rated at "X" amount of Dollars......if someone comes over the top we all know Walsh won't budge too much and Pickering will do his best for his customer.

Levi will look like a dill if we win a flag and he doesn't at his new home. Lets face it he would be the 2nd to leave the club, we've been quite lucky in regards to this subject.

Playing Devils Advocate here;

Levi got game time this year due to a mix of Wells, Swallow, Harvey, and Ziebell missing games. Full credit to Greenwood, he grabbed his opportunity brilliantly and had an amazing year.

I of course hope we can re-sign him, as he's just a great sort of player to have, and on a personal level he's a top bloke.

However if he feels he is more valuable than the club is willing to pay him, I won't be 100% devastated to see him seek greener pastures. I feel like we more than have the cattle to cover him, and would wish him nothing but good luck for his future career.

If I were Levi, with the season I'd just had, and that my club has just had, I'd ask for a modest pay rise and stay. If the club offered no pay rise I'd still stay.

Bloody hell, why would you leave a club in the position we're in, both on and off the field, and leave all your mates? Money can't be the only reason players move. Unless the club actively wants to trade him, I'm betting he stays. If he wins the B&F or even goes top 5, he stays and gets a pay rise. Hence no signature to this point and not until after tonight.

Don't want to lose Greenwood, but just a thought:

Richmond lose 11 & 32 for Greenwood & (22'ish)
GWS Lose: JO'R & 22'ish for Pick 11
NM Lose: Greenwood for JO'R and 32

he's been in the doghouse for years, and just busted into the senior side and had a great year. he's entitled to rattle the cage a bit

Wow you guys are really helpful and quite the polite bunch.

Sorry I intruded with a respectful post regarding a player who may leave and we are interested in.

Hopefully we sign him.

Disgagreeing doesn't mean disrespectful.

Pick 11 for a guy your own club reportedly offered not much more than average wage. The way it appears us fans look at it is Tigers say pick 11 is too high, Roos fans say pick 31 is too low.

A deal that could work, which I know you guys have discussed on here as being fanciful is a swap of picks in the first & second round, perhaps even with a player coming across from us. With that in mind and given a few North fans are suggesting that McDonald should move into the midfield, how about:

Richmond - 12 & 32 plus Batchelor
North - 16 & 36 plus Greenwood

Batchelor would facilitate the move of McDonald & Atley(Higgins deal) moving further up the ground. The swapping of first round picks in particular would give the Roos a better crack at a top kid. Around that level is likely to be Weller/Ahern/De Goey/Goddard. One of those would certainly help the Roos moving forward.

Granted it's not an ideal scenario and a pick closer to 20 as a straight trade would no doubt be better, but with us not having a pick in that range, not sure what else is a viable trade to get the deal done without either club seemingly being ripped off.
Bugger Batchelor

Id want Rance & north 3rd rounder
for Levi

For a bloke you club offered little more than average wage for. Good luck with that, it's not AFL Live on PS3

This exactly, it's called asset diversification.

He was sensational this year, but he's replaceable, we've got a similar type kid in the 2's that could fill the breach IMO.

If we got 11 for Levi, talk of a second round pick are hilarious, when was the last reigning best and fairest winner, in his mid 20's, from a top 4 side, moved on for a second round pick? And if it helped us getting an elite junior key back, forward or outside mid, then I'd be all for it.

Just wow.

Rance, really? The AA CHB for Levi? Stop it.

FWIW I doubt he will leave, but he is worth a late teens early 20's pick at best. if your club rated him so highly he wouldnt be offered a peanuts salary and they wouldnt have jeopordised his status by signing Higgins and Waite. My opinion is I think you are blessed with a very strong inside mid brigade and can afford to lose him and your club knows it.
