I hope the club let him settle in to a full time position.

Put him at CHB or CHF and leave him there. Then we will see his true capabilities.

I liked him at CHF late in the year. Will play a roaming mobile style that will create space for Brown to work into and also be that get out option from defence to kick to. Can also take a turn in the ruck when needed.

He's just got to work on his concentration levels. Prone to dropping the odd pie.

McKay gets groomed for CHB in 2019.

Plus when they are both established, we have 2 interchangeable players when the team needs a lift.

A long term spine of Nielson McKay Durdin Brown with Tarrant as the intercept king for another 3 is a nice starting point.

My gut feeling is that he is doomed to journeyman status. He'll play everywhere.

Too big. Full back.

We're sweet from that perspective. It's just that most of the rest of the footy world hasn't cracked on to it yet.

I think you fancy Neilsen as the eventual full back after Taz, but I see him taking the second tall options.

Defence

FB: McKay (Tazzas role)
CHB: Nielsen (Thompson's role)
Gen Def: EVW (Spuds role)

Contender: Watson

Then speed around them.

Attack

FF: Brown
CHF: Durdin (when required)

Contender: Larkey

Wood/Garner/Turner/Simpkin/Hrovat

That’s pretty much what I would like to see. McKay to take the big forwards, Nielson second defender. Not fussed where they are named on the team sheet.

Durdin will be a very very good player.

Durdin played his best game when there was no fear of him being dropped the following week, ie in Round 23. It would be great if our crop of young players could go into a guaranteed number of games so that they can express themselves and not worry about being dropped. This is apparently what happens at the Swans. I don't think there's any disputing that the Swans development has been working better than ours over the past few years and that there seems to be a strong relationship and understanding between coach and rookie players in Sydney. I hope we can emulate that.

Looks like he may have broken his arm, FFS we can’t take a trick with injuries

If it is a broken arm, whilst sucking it's not that bad. He can continue to work on his running and be back in the first half of the season.

We have plenty of big boys to give games to.
