I wonder why we haven't had a Bulldogs poster coming on here telling us that he'll never be a mid

If I could edit photos I would have changed the gif to have Stringer and Bevo’s faces. But I’m a Luddite, so oh well.

Ill bite - he had 15 effective disposals and laid a tackle. So considering he managed 9 clearances, that means he had 4 effective disposals in general play (one of which was kicking a point which should have been a goal)

Still, 9 clearances is pretty good. 9 clangers, on the other hand -- giving the ball directly to the opposition -- kind of nullifies that.

Jake has a shitload to learn about just nearly everything to do with footy -- other than beating his man to a ground ball in a 1:1 contest and snapping a goal. He is quite good at that when matched against average opponents.

But didn't dogs fans tel us that he'll never have the tank to do what he did on Saturday? Sure he won't do it consistently, but it's a positive that he won so much of the ball.

People underrate how well Richmond's defensive set up at the MCG is.

Of course he'll have to learn a lot. This is his first year of really playing some significant time in the midfield

his disposal was largely impacted by a combination of how well Richmond set up at half back, and how poorly we structured our forward line.

Was at the game and sat up on level 4 and had a good view for Q1 and Q3.
Can't say for certain, but it looked like anytime Stringer went to get us forward, he had no options on and was either pulling his kicks or going short options that were cut off or spoiled too easily.

It was the best i've seen Richmond play all year, and by no means the worst we've played. So 71pts is a good indicator for where both clubs are at the moment.

With how well they set up behind the ball, Stringer's game in the middle was largely wasted.
they had the HB line locked up and they swarm back so well when the ball does get over that point that you spend most of your time either kicking it to them or pushing your forwards out to the pockets.

We probably needed him to play forward for more of that game. Would have done more damage around the forward stoppages than the centre clearances.

Pretty desperate attempt to talk him down. The truth is his disposal is normally just fine, whereas he doesn't normally collect 29 possessions and 9 clearances. If he becomes the kind of player that gets those numbers regularly we'll have got a bargain and Bulldog supporters will stop coming on our board to say that he's no good.

His kicking ineffectiveness was well overstated. Put a lot of kicks to the hotspot only for our forwards not to compete. Compete opposite of how theyed performed the last two weeks. Less than half of the turnovers were poor execution or the wrong option.

A nice little haul of 3.1, broke his tackle record with a game high 9 and second highest career disposal count while still only spending 30-40% of his time in the midfield. He is really starting to click with the team and is stringing together a nice run of games.

It's gonna be exciting seeing him in a team that's properly up and running, now they seems to be striking the ideal balance between forward / midfield.

Loved his game. He is getting better and better. A genuine footballer
So much upside its scary. The comparisons to Dustin Martin are fair.
As his fitness increases so does his self belief and his impact. Will become the best player at Essendon within two years, freeing up Heppell, Smith & Merrett

Imagine this guy playing with Ollie Wines ?
