Might be way off the mark but he plays like I pictured David Neitz playing when he was behind the ball.

The almost overmatching the drop zone but still holding the ball, the awkward yet punchy kicking action.

I dunno, probably way off.

Personally I would like to see when we get our best team back look at players such as Baldwin to have a role sometimes on the wing or around the middle at times as a marking target hell they were using him tonight! Brad obviously gave him a bit of freedom to play his natural game. Him Durham and Rids being back there helped compensate for no Laverde and Kelly.

Would love to see how he goes against Hawkins in a wrestling contest with the ball coming in high - this is where he could be a point of difference to anyone else on our list atm. Reminds of the old school natural footballer who won't let you down often, a bit like the previous no 26.

Took some strong marks at critical times. They might swap him for Laverde or Kelly after injury but he's earnt himself another year on the list if he wants it after his last 2 weeks. All he seems to have done since he got to Essendon is work hard. Firstly to rehab his knees and get back to playing VFL. Then to work his way to the AFL, and now to learn a new position and play well on the big stage

Looks good ball in hand - composed and decent distribution.

Need to see him defend against a quality opponent. I’m still not sure how many genuine AFL level tall forwards he can match up on.

Can see he’s a natural footballer - brave, good skills and good feel for the game.

That's what I saw. He seems to have a lowish centre of gravity, combined with his core and tree trunks means he can hold his position under the ball. Also didn't panic. Composure is made for high level AFL games.

Nobody in the league beats Hawkins in said scenario
